Two of my three kids are sick and I'm slowly but surely losing my mind

Two of my three kids are sick and I'm slowly but surely losing my mind

My kids are being everything *but* cooperative today. They don't like changing from routine and I'm asking them to do that in order to better prepare for whatever COVID19 is going to throw our way. We need to make changes in order to help prevent any kind of illness from taking hold in our house because Gavin has a compromised immune system.

I'm really stressed out and trying to gain control over the chaos but the kids just aren't having it. Truthfully, neither of them will or at least shouldn't be going to school in the morning. Elliott's been running a high fever all weekend, with a headache, cough and congestion. Emmett started with a cough last night. I don't know what else to do but keep them home.

So far, Gavin and I are both doing fine. Elliott seems to be feeling better but he needs 24 hours fever free before he can return to school.

I'm trying to manage everything but it's just not very easy, especially since being in my own. This is definitely a time where teamwork would be of massive benefit to all of us. It's not like Lizze and I aren't working together, it's just that she's not here and everything falls on me. Everything that's falling on me is really heavy and challenging to manage.

I've been writing this throughout the day, so it keeps getting longer and longer as I near the end of the night.

Anyway, Emmett's not sleeping yet but he's getting close and I'm pretty sure Elliott is out like a light. I'm feeling stressed out but the house is quiet and I'm decompressing as I finish writing this. I'm good for now and plan on doing better tomorrow. I know I've been back at this single parenting thing for about 8 months now but I'm still getting my feet underneath me. As the kids begin to slowly do better, I find myself in a better headspace.

Gavin will be getting his infusion done first thing in the morning. I want to make sure we stay on top of this, especially now.

Since the kids are home sick, walking is out of the question so it looks like I'll be diving into some strength training instead.

I'm also hoping to be able to pull the trigger on Elliott and Emmett's new mattresses. Gavin still refuses to get a new one and I'm not fighting him on it right now cause there's bigger fish to fry. I'm really hoping this helps the boys sleep better and encourages Emmett to use his own bed once again. Their mattresses are old and definitely not comfortable. They deserve this and I'm grateful to be able to pull this off.

Please stay safe, be smart and for the love of God, wash your hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 secs. ☺
