This is an unplanned follow-up to last Friday’s “Untethered From Reality.” Shortly after recording last weeks episode, Gavin was rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night via ambulance. I’ll talk about what happened, why Gavin was hospitalized, where we stand right now, and what we learned. This was a terrifying experience, and it sort of completes last week’s story.

It’s a teachable moment and provides some insight into what families like mine can often find ourselves confronting.

I’m glad you were able to get the help you needed in the moment.

I can’t even imagine how hard it would be to see your child OD on their prescribed meds. The description was so clearly an overdose and I have to believe that you saw that so many times when you were medic that you recognized it immediately. I’m glad the younger kids didn’t have to see him stumbling or falling. Hope he’s doing better now.
