Holiday’s can be tough for families like mine

For the most part, the bulk of us are doing okay today. Elliott seems to be feeling better, Emmett’s is in a good mood and Gavin’s not freaking out. We’re going to my parents house this afternoon to celebrate Thanksgiving.

For the first time in forever, this will be a very small gathering. None of my siblings will be there and I think it will only be like 12 people, including the 5 of us. We have a huge family and holidays are always crowded. It’s kinda nice to have a more intimate, quiet and less chaotic day. I’ll miss everyone but I know they’re with their respective families.

It’s really important that we count our blessings and show thanks for the things we have to be thankful for, especially when life is at its hardest.

Life for my family is very difficult on a good day. All the days that fall outside of that are far worse. We’re faced with a seemingly endless run of health issues and Special Needs related challenges. Having said that, if we lose sight of the good, we’ll drown in the negative.

We have a roof over our heads, a car that physically gets us from point A to point B, we managed to avoid Whooping Cough this past week, Gavin’s not been hospitalized for a good while and while money is incredibly tight, jobs seems to come in when we need them the most. These are all things we are grateful for.

I hope that wherever you are in the world, today is a peaceful, pleasant day for you and those that matter to you. ☺
