On multiple levels, it’s been an absolutely exhausting day. I found myself dealing with a great deal of frustration all morning. I spent hours on the phone trying to get Gavin’s IVIG infusion medication situation resolved and it seems like it’s been resolved. See: We finally figured out why Gavin has NOT been able to get his life saving medication and you won’t believe the reason

By the time I got through all that stuff, I was heading down a path of anger and I really didn’t want to go there.

Getting everything resolved was a very good thing but it’s been an exhausting, scary and frustrating process. It just all came to a head this morning and I became angry because Gavin had to go through all of this. You can read the post linked above, if you’re interested in finding out exactly what happened.

I mentioned in a previous post that I wanted to chart a new course because the way the day was going, it wasn’t going to end well.

The boys have been clamoring to get back to Quail Hollow again and while I didn’t feel like going, I knew it was the best move to make and I was right.

Everyone went this time and we had a lot of fun.

Lizze found this app on Google Play called AllTrails and it is the best thing ever for anyone who enjoys hiking. Some of the images below are from the app, after it tracked our hike today.

I feel like we did really good. I didn’t actually have the app when we first began our hike. I downloaded and set it up while we were already hiking, so our actually distance was much closer to three miles.

Ruby did amazing. We didn’t have a single problem with her. She did great with all the dogs and people that passed us in the woods along the way. She never slowed down and could have easily kept going but we needed to call it a day.

We came home, gave her a bath to make sure she didn’t pick up any ticks while we were gone and chilled out the rest of the evening.

After a very stressful start to the day, we ended on a high note. I’m super grateful for that.
