For starters, I’ve been sick since last night. I’m not sick sick but rather I ate something that made me feel like I was going to die. Lizze was kind enough to take over so I could sleep for most of the day. I’m not feeling 100% but I was able to pick the kids up for school and manage the rest of the day.

The boys have had a pretty decent day and I’m so proud of them for doing so well today.

I’m also really happy to say that Gavin’s doing better. He’s been feeling so much better than he has been the last few nights.

I promise I’ll write more tomorrow and get you all caught up of everything that’s going on. I need a chance to recover and get back on track. I appreciate your understanding.. ☺

Reflux sucks. The reflux and heartburn I had during chemo was worse than anything else. It was a side effect of my particular drug and it was so bad it would wake me up from a dead sleep. I found that Pepcid AC was a lifesaver for me. I tried a prescription pill but didn’t like the side effects. The thing that helped the most though was eating better and losing weight. I’ve lost 25 pounds since April/May and rarely have problems anymore. You’re right that food-borne illnesses are common, but they don’t usually hit one person time after time- that’s what I was getting at when I mentioned it. If someone is getting is getting sick (outside of the aforementioned reflux) on a regular basis, they really need to find out why because that is simply not normal.

Regarding the reflux and weight issues, you haven’t done a weigh in for a few weeks. How is everything going?

How often do you break down the air fryer and clean it? And how often do you sanitize your kitchen? It sounds like you eat a lot of chicken in your house and chicken is notoriously germy; just having one spot where raw chicken touched can cause all kinds of problems until it’s properly cleaned. I ask this because I can count on one hand the number of times food has made me sick in the last 15 years, but you have mentioned many times that something that you have eaten has made you sick. I would start with a super deep clean of the kitchen and bathroom and then address the rest of the house and go from there. There’s no reason that you should have food-borne illnesses this often.

I should probably clarify. Some of the time I’m dealing with reflux type issues. Food born illness is very common though. I used to take people to the hospital all the time for it.

You’re right that there shouldn’t be repeats though. This is more about something not agreeing with me. Reflux can make you feel sick and while I don’t get it often, there are some things that seem to trigger it and it sucks when it hits.

I should also add that this is pretty solid advice. Thank you
