I talk alot about needing a break from my kids. It’s true that my kids are exhausting, challenging and were delivered to us without an off switch or mute button.  O_o

It’s also true that I relish the idea of them being in school so I can finally have some down time.

However, it’s also true that by lunchtime, I miss them and want them to come home.  Something you may not know is that I show up to the boys school an hour early, every single day and wait by the, first in line to get my babies back.

I usually use that time to get some writing done and listen to some music.

At 3pm sharp, this is what I see…

Emmett is usually the first one out door, followed closely by Elliott.  Gavin is typically the last to emerge from the doors for some reason.

Each day I get excited to see them and can’t wait to ask them about their days and find how what they learned.

Maybe I’m a bit of a dork but this is something that I feel very blessed to be able to do.  I can usually tell by the way they walk to the car, how their day went.

I love picking up my kids after school.  🙂
