There are times when routine isn’t a good thing

It was another early morning today.  The boys were up before even the buttcrack of dawn had presented itself.  Somethings got to give because this has long since gotten old.

There’s no way to actually know what’s behind this but I fear it’s becoming routine.

This is one of those times where routine isn’t a good thing.  🙁

Hi Rob, My name is Katy. I am a 20-something woman who was diagnosed with aspergers about 2 years ago.
Anyways I’ve noticed this pattern within myself too. Monday I woke up at 12:30 AM and wasn’t able to go back to sleep. I went into work on 2 hours of sleep. I think the holidays screw around with everyone’s internal clocks but particularly those with autism who are on a day-to-day schedule.

What the heck is going on with these kids? I’d almost like to start a database blog where we can all compare “start times,” because it seems as if a lot of my autism friend parents experience it on the same nights.  Sleep has always been an issue with my 12 year old, but last night it was 12:30am! And he’s in a fabulous mood, while his Dad and I are struggling. I start to wonder about weather, the moon, etc., as crazy as it all sounds.
