OMG, you're not going to believe what Gavin did today

OMG, you're not going to believe what Gavin did today

Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad and celebrate any victories you can, no matter how small. Today was one of those days where I'm choosing to focus on the positives.

Today at school, Gavin had a mixed day.

He had a few problems and lost a couple of points today for *not being prepared for class *and *for leaving his seat without asking. * <img src="https://lxnxuovarpoeyuzaxuet.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/blog-images/inline/2013/11/wpid-textgram_1384486609.png" alt="" class="inline-block max-w-full h-auto rounded-xl my-4" loading="lazy" />

That not withstanding, I'm focusing on this next part because it's definitely an improvement over the last 2 weeks.

I want to make this clear because I don't want people to think that we have impossibly high standards, that Gavin simply can't live up to. We truly don't. Gavin's a tough nut to crack and needs to have a different kind of approach than we would take with the other kids.

That said, I want to share with everyone that Gavin finished all his in class work today and actually turned it in, just like he was supposed to.

This may seem insignificant to some but when things have been as bad as they've been, any improvement is something to be celebrated. Whether or not he continues to show this kind of behavioral improvement remains to be seen. However, I really try to live in the moment and in this moment, Gavin made a good decision.

Good job Gavin, keep up the hard work.
