Gavin was interviewed by the social worker and so were we.  She was awesome,  very patient and full of compassion.  She also did something that few others ever have.  She recognized that he has control over most of these things.

That has never happened before.

We have a tentative plan in place.  If he’s admitted here,  he will stay for the time and we would locate a suitable long term, more intensive facility for him to be transferred to.

The hangup will be his health issues.  That will be a challenge but they have some ideas.

We are waiting to hear if he will be admitted or not. Thank you for all your support and for following our story.  I’ll let you know when we know more.

**Thanks for reading**

Rob, anyone who looks down on you or your family for this is a cretin. No one could possibly think that this isn’t ripping your soul apart. It’s terrible and tragic. I’ve got tears in my eyes as I write this, and they have been there since I read your post. You are doing what is best for your family, Gavin included. YOU are responsible for that safety, not anyone else and certainly not some troll on the Internet who has turds for brains and no heart. Hang in there man. That’s all I know to say. This will get better for everyone. I can promise you that if nothing else. Just hang on.

I agree with Aimee!

Honestly, I feel it’s a huge step in the right direction. And the fact you lucked out enough to get a savvy social worker that he couldn’t manipulate? How fortunate for you all. It is always sad when a child needs to go to a new or different home, but it’s sad also for the other 4 people in the house being held hostage by the behavior of that child. You’ve commented a group home is the most likely outcome for Gavin, even as an adult. All you are doing is changing the timeline a little to ensure EVERYONE’S safety. I know your heart breaks for Gavin, my heart breaks more, I think for Emmet and Elliott who (in spite of all their own issues) have the right to a normal childhood. Free of horror stories, free of daily terrifying freakouts, free of being groped for their brother’s sexual gratification, free. I imagine quite a few people will be pissed at me for this post, but too bad. There is more than one child in this family, this one child that demands an enormous percentage of the meager resources this family selflessly gives. Perhaps a shift in power (away from Gavin having it all) will change the dynamic for the good. Rob & Lizze, so many of us hope so.

Mine too! 🙁
