I never heard back

I never heard back from the HVAC company today. Hopefully, they'll call in the morning. It did briefly rain, which has cooled things off for a bit. Emmett is in a horrible mood still, and if the screaming continues, I will probably need to close the windows.  I'm really hoping to be able to get the boys to sleep tonight because it's cooled off. With any luck, everyone will get some sleep tonight...

Things are rapidly going downhill

As the day marches forward, the temperature in the house is well into the 80's, and the boys are no longer fun to be around. In fact, they are quite unpleasant. Something that most people might not think of, is how sensory processing disorder plays into things. Anything that causes stimulation of the senses, can lead to sensory overload. Kids like mine don't process sensory input correctly, and therefore they can become overwhelmed. Kids with sensory processing disorder experience everything at the same time. They feel, hear, smell, see and taste everything, all at once. It's disorientating, overwhelming and even painful. Place those same kids into an environment that's too hot. Their skin becomes sticky from sweat, and they reach a state of overstimulation fairly quick. I don't experience things like this myself.…

Fingers crossed as I wait for the call

I spoke with the HVAC company who installed our A/C unit. We are scheduled for Thursday, but the cost is up in the air. My understanding is that all parts are covered for the first ten years, under manufacturers warranty.  This makes a big difference because the quote I was given was not taking that into consideration.  They are going to pull our file, and call the manufacturer to see what all is covered in the first ten years. I should be hearing back from them later today. If it's covered under warranty, than all I have to go is cover labor. Labor is expensive enough at this point, but any little bit of savings is a good thing.  Fingers crossed...

If we can make it through today

That felt like the longest night ever. I was finally able to sleep, and as I woke up, the house was feeling quite comfortable.  Lizze is already in class, and won't be home for hours.  The boys are all in a good moods, and that's awesome. I suspect as the day wears on, and the temperature increases, we'll see that change. If we can make it through today, it's supposed to rain for the next day or so, and that will cool things off.  At this point in time, I'm feeling pretty good about today.

I hope to schedule @CKPHeatingCool as soon as possible

It's pushing 2 AM and three of the five of us are still awake because of the heat. It feels so much worse now then it did all day long.  Lizze and I gave up our room tonight, because it's the coolest place in the house. Elliott and Emmett have both staked their claims on our king size mattress. Emmett did manage to fall asleep, but Elliott is still awake, and not likely to fall asleep.  Lizze and I are in the living room, on opposite couches.  It's so hard to get comfortable, and moving at all just increases the misery. Poor Elliott is breaking out with heat rash, and is super itchy. Gavin is sleeping off his IVIG infusion, but at least he's sleeping.  I'm going to try and…

I don’t think the kids will be able to sleep

It's getting pretty rough as the night goes on. It's hotter now than it was earlier, and you can't even sit in the house without sweating. The boys are really struggling tonight, and I'm not sure they're going to be able to sleep tonight.  This really sucks, because there's nothing I can do about it.  Until I have the ability to repair the A/C, I might have to go pick up a few fans. I'll do that as soon as I get my check. It's definitely cheaper, and it's something I know I'll be able to do.  It's gonna be a really long night.
