@VivintHome is helping us prepare for my son’s Wish Trip

With my family scheduled to leave at the end of the month in order to have Gavin's wish of seeing Legoland granted, there are many things we must to do to prepare. There's the planning for the physical trip, the drive time, stops for food and bathroom breaks. We have to plan snacks and activities to keep the kids occupied for the fifteen hour drive. Something that might not be the first thing that comes to mind when making preparations, is making sure we secure our house before leaving. In order to do that, Vivint Home is coming out next Friday to go through the house and make sure all of our equipment is functioning properly. They will be installing the new panel I've had for a few weeks now…

One of the kindest things you can do for an #Autism parent

I know it's not possible for every Autism parent in the world to take a daily nap. If I were in charge, I would make it so that every Autism parent would be able to nap. I consider myself to be one of the lucky one's, because naps aren't always impossible for me to get if needed, at least most of the time. As Autism parents, we have to parent twenty-five hours a day, eight-days a week, three hundred sixty-six days a year, and oftentimes do so for the rest of our natural lives. My thoughts

I couldn’t fall asleep last night

Last night was kinda rough for me. For some reason, I was unable to fall asleep. I tried so hard to fall asleep but I couldn't shut my brain off. By the time I fell asleep, it was about 5:30 AM, and the day was about to begin. The boys got up and off to school this morning, without a tremendous amount of headache. Now it's time to try and get some sleep before the kids get home and proceed to drive me crazy.

Blessings / My thoughts

Why today was a blessing

It's been a long day but a rewarding one. The boys had a good day at school, and we were able to confirm that everything is a go for Gavin's Wish Trip at the end of the month. I was able to get documentation from Wishes Can Happen that I can provide the school, in order to excuse the boys for the ten or so days we're going to be gone. I haven't heard from the bank yet but as soon as I do, I've decided to build an enclosure for the ferrets. This is going to be way easier and cheaper than trying to figure out a way to keep Lemme from escaping. When building something from scratch, I can design it without the exploitable escape routes. A good day

The boys had a good day at school and Gavin had a fun day with my Mom. To make the day even more exciting, Lizze's Mom is taking the boys out to dinner after therapy tonight. I don't know what Lizze and I are going to do but I intend to try relaxing for a little bit. There's some work I need to get caught up on before the end of the day and I can do that while chilling out out on the couch. ☺ I will update my fitness stuff today but my weight will not be accurate because I forgot to weigh myself before I ate today. We'll see how it goes.

Good News / Wishes Can Happen

Awesome News

We received confirmation that everything will be up and running, if not now, in short order. Legoland is the main thing Gavin wished for and I was worried that might prove to be a problem. The only place I don't know about for sure is Kennedy Space Center. It would be awesome to go there but if it's not a huge deal. It's probably just the nerd in me that was really excited to see that place. 😁 We are officially a go for the end of the month and I know I'm excited. ☺ This trip is going to be so much fun for all of us. Major Update / My thoughts

Major Update

As I've said before, the decision as to whether or not we should push our trip back was between us and the wish organization. I also mentioned that we were going to wait until the end of this week to make a final decision on anything. I spoke with the organization this morning and the place we're staying is back up and running. We know that Disney is up and running already. What we didn't know is whether or not the other places are going to be in service. That is being looked into this morning, and assuming everything checks out, we will be good to go for the end of this month. Lizze and I are good with this.
