This is how serious food allergies can be

I wanted to take a minute and help you to have a better understanding of what the Lost and Tired family is going through when it comes to Elliott's food allergies.  My hope it that by better understanding our situation, you may be able to apply what you've learned and the insight that you've gain,  to help support someone in your life,  going through something similar.  Below you will find a letter that we received from Elliott's immunologist/allergist.  These are the detailed instructions provided to the school, in regards to Elliott and his allergy. I was actually surprised to see how ridged this was.  I'm still learning about just how serious a tree nut allergy is.  If it's this bad at school, just imagine what it's like at home.  A…

The Gorski Christmas Get Together 2012

I wanted to share some pictures from the Gorski Christmas get together. It was pretty low key, just the way I like it.  The boys did really well and I'm hoping that translates into a quiet evening.  At some point tomorrow, we are going to be going to Lizze's parents and I'll take pictures and pass them along.  I hope you all had a great Christmas.  I hope your little ones handled it well and enjoyed themselves.  I also hope that inevitable fallout will be minimal and as painless as possible for both you and your kiddos.  :-)

Worried about Gavin

So Gavin has basically slept through Christmas. I'm not sure what to make of that.  I think he's just tired but something is going on with him and I'm worried. He's put on at least 25 lbs in the last 60 days and that absolutely not normal for him. I know he started puberty a out two years ago and maybe this is just part of that.  However, even if that's the case,  there is a huge concern over his medications.  Weight gain and hormone changes can't change how effective his meds are. They could need adjusted or stop working all together.  That's been one of our fears as he enters his teen years. All I can do right now is keep an eye on him and get him into…

Everyone likes Chutes and Ladders right? Wrong!!!!

Christmas day was going so well. Gavin was playing in his room because he wanted to be alone. Elliott and Emmett were playing together with Play Doh.  All was well..... Then of course,  Daddy in his infinite wisdom brought out the game Chutes and Ladders.    I thought, who doesn't like Chutes and Ladders? Well,  I'll tell you who doesn't like Chutes and Ladders.  It's the kid that hits the chute and basically has to start all over again. In this case,  Elliott.  Elliott was doing really well and seemed to catch every ladder all the way to the top.  Then, he hit the big chute on square 87 and slid all the way back down. Elliott didn't like that very much.  He broke down in tears and ran off sobbing…

Christmas Morning 2012

Merry Christmas everyone. The Lost and Tired family has been up since 5am. Everyone is getting along and having a great morning. I had planned on cooking breakfast this morning, but I don't think anyone will eat it.  Instead, the boys will probably munch on cereal and fruit.  I wanted to take a minute and thank everyone for being there for us this year.  I truly, truly appreciate it.  Merry Christmas......

T’was the night before Christmas……

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house,  not a creature was stirring and that includes Elliott.  Thank God he actually slept tonight.  He's snuggled with the two kittens that replaced the dog fearing Sam and Dean. He's so peaceful and he'll be thrilled in the morning to see this picture because they actually sleep with him the entire night.  I'm really going to bed now.......... Good night....
