Elliott Richard is having major anxiety issues. He is so stressed out that he's breaking out in hives (Lizze does the same thing). ER is our "typical" child. While he's most likely very high functioning Asperger's unless you knew what you were looking for you would never know it. He is very well adjusted and a social butterfly but he does have the anxiety. and sensory issues. Dr. Patti said he needs to be reassured and made to feel safe. That is a lot easier said then done. So Gavin keeps peeing his pants. I will be taking the advice received about setting the timer. That's a great idea. The concern right now is whether or not this is a side effect to the Lithium. Loss of bladder control can be a side effect to Lithium. Gavin goes back to Dr. R this week for a follow up to the med change. We'll have to ask him what he thinks. I know this can be fairly typical in Asperger's kids but this has become more of a problem as of late. What's really weird is how calm he is when it happens. Gavin has been "talking" to Elliott Richard again. This time he told ER that he used to have a cat but it died. Then went on to tell ER that the cat was in his room and 2 dogs came in and ripped it to pieces. This never happened. We had a cat that died following a lightening strike but that's it. Needless to say ER is quiet upset by this. We continue to have this very same problem. Gavin just can't keep his mouth shut sometimes. I swear he has to be doing this on purpose. Maybe he's getting some weird payoff by doing this. Maybe he's resentful towards ER for having more freedom. Either way this will not be tolerated. Gavin will be having oatmeal for lunch. I…

The past few months Gavin has been "forgetting" to use the potty. He simply pee's his pants or worse he poop's his pants. He apparently would rather do that then stop playing and go to the bathroom. This explains Gavin's um, odor. I haven't a clue how to correct this. The only thing I can think of is to remove whatever had distracted him from using the potty and make him earn it back.
