Elliott has pneumonia…

Lizze got back from Elliott's appointment a little while ago. He has asthmatic bronchitis and walking pneumonia. He's out for about a week. He should be ok for school on Monday but we'll have to see. Aside from the fact that it sucks having Elliott sick and miserable it screws the week up. We have to be in Akron on Friday. Emmett has the Neuro-developmental center for a follow up.

Gavin: Not good news

Just got back from Gavin's appointment with Dr. R..... Gavin struggled and melted down durning the wait. Gavin's diagnosis is schizoeffective disorder. I have a copy of the paper now. Gavin is clearly psychotic and Dr. R thinks the memory issues may be due in part to the "voices" being so loud that they drown everything else out. Another problem is the regression. Gavin has regressed and lost abilities. His speech is suffering as well. He is becoming more and more difficult to understand. His loss of abilities include things like opening the car door, putting blocks together (sometimes) and following SIMPLE 1 step tasks.....just to name a few. Dr. R wants him run through the neuro-developmental clinic at Cleveland or Akron. We have to try to identify the cause…

Elliott Update Time….

Elliott is home from school AGAIN today. He has to get back into the doctors. They are concerned that he may have developed pneumonia. His REALLY nasty cough is back and they want to be sure it hasn't gotten any worse. He will probably have to get chest x-rays this time as well.

Gavin Melts Down

This happened because Gavin suffered the natural consequences of breaking the rules. He was told not to drink his soup out of his bowl and instead use his spoon. We didn't want Emmett mimicking him. Gavin made the choice to do it anyway and then Emmett did the same thing and dumped his soup all over the floor. Gavin did not get desert because he didn't listen.

One of the ways I spread Awareness

This is the default wallpaper that goes out with ALL my new Android ROM's. People can change it if they want but the idea is planted and they at least think about Autism for a minute. I've gotten great feedback on this wallpaper. This is just one of the many ways I incorporate Autism Awareness into my work.

Lizze is ok!!!

Wheaties had apparently happened was a few stitches had popped through. The infection was just on the surface and it actually "resolved" (at the expense of gory details) itself. You can see it was just a stitch that came through and got infected. The redness is normal thay said and nothing to worry about. I was concerned that the infection was deeper and we were just seeing what was coming to the surface. She's quiet relieved as am I. That's the Ulster thing she needed to have to deal with. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers...

Father of the year? No sir, not me…..

I woke up this morning still not feeling well (that will be another post). I came down stairs and was sitting with Lizze and the kids watching a movie... Gavin is already having issues as that is what woke me up this morning. All of the suddon Gavin stands up and goes to his room. He comes back down with a folded up picture. He launches into this very loud, very long winded "thing" about whether or not he should be able to keep the picture. It was a picture of Sonic he drew while in the psych unit at Akron last year. I told him that it was fine not to worry about it. Thinking that was it, I went back to trying not to throw up. Gavin then…
