Getting out for a bit

We took Gavin to school this morning and decided to go visit my parents. Grabbed the boys some breakfast and headed over. The boys are doing better and we needed to get out of the house. I have been home alone with 2 or 3 sick kids most of the week and to be quite honest I'm going a bit stir crazy. Emmett will be returning to school today but Elliott is still on hold as we are still waiting for the culture results. Lizze started her last day of treatment. Hopefully, she will find some relief today and be able to be a bit more comfortable in her own skin. Posted from WordPress for Android

Let’s catch up…..

Let's get caught up on Lizze's current status and condition, post day 2 of the headache infusion. Right now it's a lot tougher to keep caught up on this blog. I have 3 sick special needs kids and my wife having a 3 day long procedure to break her almost 2 month old migraine. She came home yesterday about 1:15pm, sick to her stomach from the meds and looking pretty rough. She slept for awhile until I had to run to the grocery store. Basically, it was explained to us that it would have taken many months of oral medications to get the levels to where they will be after the third and final infusion. I would imagine that takes it's toll on the body. But the process is designed…

Gavin is struggling

Gavin is clearly struggling. Not sure if it's due to medication adjustment or or just mother nature. Blood work was a drama filled ordeal today. He was doing so well that one person was able to do it alone. Today he was nervous going in and screamed while he was back there. Everyone was really nice and completely understanding. Gavin kept screaming even after it was done. I got a look from people cause I had to step. Into him a little bit. I needed to keep things from exculating any further and I wasn't mean at all. I just told him that we aren't going to do this. He turned it off and we moved on. This is definitely a few steps backwards but still light years ahead of…

A Clozapine review

Gavin and I are at Dr. R's. We are following up on the Clozapine and reviewing Gavin's progress. While I completely agree with the medications I do have my concerns. Gavin's chest pain for one. Most likely nothing, but it could also be related to the Clozapine. Gavin is also still forgetting things more frequently now. However, the hallucinations seemed to have stopped and that's a GOOD thing. Posted from WordPress for Android

Just heard from Lizze

Lizze just woke up and sent me a message saying see was almost done. Her dad is picking her up at 1pm to bring her home. I have no idea how it went and I'm anxiously awaiting news on that subject. She hasn't replied to any of my texts yet. She may have passed out again or is talking with the doctor. Either way she should be home within the hour. I'll let you all know how it went......as soon as I know. Posted from WordPress for Android via Autism Aware, midNIGHT powered Epic 4G by Sprint

Emmett: Hard at work

Emmett is already hard at work. He's learning his shapes and colors. All while improving his fine motor skills. He LOVES the Android app "Kids Shape Puzzle". It's free on the market but he went through that one pretty quick so I got him the paid version for like $3.00. Basically, Emmett get the outline of a shape, along with the outlines of the pieces making up the shape (if that makes sense). When he drags the pieces over to the correct place, they "snap" into place with sound while the device vibrates. Emmett LOVES this part cause he knows he did something right. When the puzzle is completed, a voice tells him "great job" and then says the name of the shape, for example, "horse". Then Emmett actually tries…

Feeling a bit helpless

Lizze just sent me a text. She said one of the medications they gave her made her migraine shoot from an 8 to a 12. She didn't say what it was but she did say she was supposed to get it again in a few minutes. I really wish I could be there. I hate that she's suffering alone.
