Just woke up….

Just woke up...and yes it's 8:30am. Typically, Emmett is up around 5am most mornings. Usually Lizze and I try to take turns getting up. Today Emmett is at grandmas house so we get to sleep in. Lizze is still sleeping and probably will be for hours still. She's had a rough week and is easily entitled to get.some rest. My little sister is leaving for Nicaragua for 5 weeks with her boyfriend and his family. She leaves tomorrow and so we are having a little send off cook out this afternoon. We are going to require a ride as we don't have the van. A fun day will be had by all...maybe. Posted from WordPress for Android

A night with Elliott

I had fully intended to put Elliott to bed a few hours ago. However, we started to watch some cartoons on Netflix. 3 hours later we are still watching and are 7 episodes in the "Incredible Hulk". The old '90s cartoon. Elliott really likes them so I figured we could make a night out of this. We never get to spend time together like this. Lizze is sleeping, as is Gavin and Emmett is at her parents for the night. So what's it gonna hurt. These are the times that we will remember. Take every opportunity to make memories. The black cloud…..

I swear we have a black cloud that just follows us around, waiting for the right time to dump whatever it has got on us. Maybe that sounds a bit pessimistic but it certainly feels just about right. I got a call from the shop today about the van. They can't get it to act up. In fact they said they got it to start up right away like nothing was wrong. This is driving me crazy. We can't seem to isolate the problem. If we don't isolate the problem then we will just nickel/dime ourselves to death.  Waterloo Transmission knows this so they want to be sure before they start replacing anything. The most likely culprit is the fuel pump. However, it hasn't shown any weakness at all during their…

Progress and tragedy

Yesterday was a day of mixed blessings. There were some positives and also great tragedy. I'll start with the good news. Lizze left here final treatment MIGRAINE FREE. After almost a 2 month long migraine she finally has met with relief. Thank you everyone for your support, thoughts and prayers during this process. Emmett is really taken to using the phone to learn. He is learning new words and building self confidence at the same time. It does at least, appear to be helping him settle down a little bit. He actively seeks these learning apps out and has learned to navigate the device himself. So that's also good news. We also received some really bad news as well. A friend of my family, someone I grew up with lost…

Announcing “Android 4 Autism”

This message has gone out to the Android community tonight. I thought I would share it here as well. I'm really excited about this project. I think this can have a very positive impact. Many people are unable to afford an iPad. My goal to to be able to provide needy families with something they can use to help their child with. Android is now, more popular then apple's iOS. So more and more development will shift to the Android platform or at least port over.   Hey fellow Android users and Autism supporters. I have been quietly working on something for a little while now and decided I would officially announce it. I wanted to announce it here because of all the Autism support generated by this community. So…
