Emmett is our youngest of 3 boys and also Autistic. I had mentioned before that he has good days and not so good days. Today, is a not so good day. He's doing a lot of shreiking and screaming over what "appears" to be nothing. I say "appears" because we have no idea what's causing this. Emmett struggles with language and speech so he can't just tell us what's wrong. I hate assuming anything but my guess is that he's maybe over stimulated. Lizze is a huge Harry Potter fan and I mean HUGE. She has made it to most of the midnight movie releases. She loves watching all the.....um....unique....people dress up in costumes. I thinks it's a bit weird but she has fun so more power to her. Sadly, I have been able to get her to the last 2 movies on opening night because we just couldn't afford it. She was disappointed but she understood.  It sucks because she only ever asks for one thing and that's to go to the midnight showing of each new Harry Potter movie. Well, in two words or less, not good. She has been needing the assistance of a cane for most of yesterday and today, in order to walk. The pain is to the point that she would rather just sleep through it. While that's not the ideal solution, I do understand. Her migraines are back.....well....I guess they never really went away. She has been getting small breaks from her migraines but last I checked, she is still getting them 20+ days a month. They are trying her on a new supplemental medication for the migra ines to go along with her pain killers. The med is called Sumavel and it comes in this cool auto-injector but not just ANY auto-injector. This is uses pressurized air to deliver the dose. No needles required. She…

Playing around with a few things on the blog today. So things will be changing every once in a while.

So Lizze and I meet with the school. I thought is was very positive and I feel really good about it.  A face to face.makes all the difference in the world. I explained that while Elliott may have Aspergers he doesn't need special attention and would likely thrive in that environment. As I have said many times, I think most of our challenges with Elliott revolve around his environment and not so much any inherent problem. They are going to discuss this but would like to meet with Dr. Pattie to get her opinion as to whether or not she feels they can meet his needs.  I feel good about this and I completely respect their position. I realized a few minutes ago that I forgot to mention something. I got a phone call from Elliott's school and I'm meeting with them today to discuss Elliott's future. I'm not sure what our options will be but right now we have very few so anything is better then what we currently are faced with. We can't open enroll Elliott until Spring and Canton City School is not something web want to even think about. I need to make this work for Elliott. He deserves this chance.
