Fevers and Cold Sores

Elliott was up all night last night with a fever and sore throat. Emmett was up all night because his mouth is covered in cold sores once again. Elliott woke up this morning with a fever of 103.5°F.  Emmett,  ironically, isn't running fever...yet,  anyway. Elliott has already been to the pedeatrician this morning and they are suspecting strep throat. He is absolutely miserable and I feel really bad for him. Emmett,  is in the beginning of a Marshalls Syndrome flare up.  He has the largest cold sores on in tongue,  cheeks and gums.  However,  he has no fever.  We're waiting to find out whether or not to give him the prednisone,  without the presence of a fever.  The instructions are to give it at the first sign of a fever. …

It’s a Miracle

I ran to Walgreens to get a few items and there they were. They sat there on the store shelf like a little box of miracles. They claim that these allow you the power to make your own quiet time. Think of the power this will give me.  It's like the fabled and long sought after mute button. I already feel more powerful and I haven't even opened the box yet.  I want to make sure that I'm in a good place when I open them and subsequently use them for the first time. This amount of power should only be used for good. Unfortunately,  the mood I'm in after Gavin's meltdown,  Elliott's constant whining and Emmett's insatiable desire to sit on my shoulders (everywhere I go),  I can't be…

Officially PR Friendly

I have decided to take the step of making Lostandtired.com a PR Friendly blog. This means that I have opened it up to being sponsored, hosting ads, reviews and giveaways. I have done the occasional review or giveaway but only on the rarest of occasions. I'm a techy and an advocate, so that's were my interest and experience lie. My blog focuses on Autism and Special Needs parenting. However, I do work on Android powered Smartphone and using them to enrich the lives of children and families touched by Autism. I would love to review your apps, especially those that are geared for special needs children. If you are interested in sponsoring a giveaway or want your product or service reviewed on this blog please contact me.. My blog receives on average, about 60,000…

Elliott’s wakeup call

Elliott had a very special wakeup call this morning. Who wouldn't want to be awoken by Mr.  Emmett John pinching your nose while sticking his fingers in your mouth?  Um....me for one.  I know that Emmett has be struggling with the whole handwashing thing as of late. ;-) It's gonna be the longest day ever. - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing tools and disadvantages of a bastardized version of auto-correct. Dear Friday

Dear Friday, We need to have a talk. Has the week not been difficult enough already?  Clearly,  you think I am in need of more challenges, as you have brought Elliott a rash today that keep him home from school. Do you not realize that Elliott +  Emmett= fighting and whining...all day long?   My only reprieve is the school hours that I so desperately cling to. It's only 8:00am and they already at it.  Granted,  most of the problem is Emmett but Elliott certainly does his share as well. All I can say is that I will make do with what you have brought me today.  However,  I'm currently giving you the death glare.  - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided…

Nightmares again

Elliott came downstairs while Lizze and I were watching TV.  Yup,  that's right,  Lizze felt well enough to hang out for a bit tonight. I miss hanging out after the kids go down.  ;-( Elliott must have had another bad dream tonight.  He came downstairs,  disoriented and asked in the sweetest way,  if he could sleep on the couch tonight. So guess were we will be tonight.  That's right,  camping out in the living room.  I honestly don't mind because it makes him feel safer and makes me feel better because I could provide him with that safer feeling. It's just one of those things.  ;-) - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the…

Life Interference

Today we had Gavin's first real Life Interference as a result of his monthly antibody infusions. He was supposed to go on a class field trip today. They went horse back riding at a ranch that works with the special needs community. Gavin was so excited and we failed to realize the conflict until last night. Can you say disappointment? Gavin took it in stride though and for that I'm very proud of him. I feel so bad about this because he was really looking forward to this. This was really the first time Gavin has had to miss something he was this psyched about, since we found out the status of his immune system. I did my best to make today as special and fun as possible, and all things considered,…
