Does it even get any cuter than this?

Perhaps I'm a bit biased but honestly,  is it even possible to get any cuter?  I think not.... - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing tools and disadvantages of a bastardized version of auto-correct. The lesser of two evils

Lizze and. I have decided to let Gavin go trick or treating today.  It seems like the lesser or two evils.  We will however,  be limiting his time out,  so as not to push our luck.  Even with the limitations in place,  I have no idea how this is going to go.  We just decided that in the event Gavin is in worse shape next year,  that he should have the chance be a kid. It's not a perfect solution but it does feel right.  Sometimes that's the only thing we have to go on. - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing tools and disadvantages of a bastardized version…

The Marketplace

This is another guests post by Jeff Stimpson. The Marketplace My son Alex (13, PDD-NOS) and I are in a new neighborhood supermarket for chicken spice, a chicken, lemons, beer (for me), frozen beans, assorted stuff. Then two guys, both taller than Alex and one with a Mohawk, loom into sight. They’re eating hamburgers. Who eats hamburgers in a grocery store? In my opinion as a seasoned New Yorker they’re just kind of looking for trouble. One of them bumps Alex near the milk and doesn’t say “excuse me.” In the chips aisle they’re with a woman. Their mom? She’s muttering about snack food and doesn’t seem to understand that these two boys have noticed Alex and that one of them seems to be prancing and flailing his arms like…

The chaos begins

We are T-minus 2 hours until trick or treat and the kids are already bouncing off the walls,  some literally.  Lizze had to receive a shot for her almost 6 week old migraine that has her out like a light.  I'm hoping it helps and I also that I can actually wake her up to go with us. Sometimes I wish we lived in a bubble that filtered out all of these holidays that cause my kids to temporarily lose their minds and go crazy.  I hope we make it through the other side of this tunnel in one piece. I told you that I would be singing a different tune once they started bouncing off the walls.  :-( - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs…

What is Occupational Therapy? (Part 8) Halloween Edition :-)

This is a special Halloween edition of What is Occupational Therapy. In this episode Emmett's OT is working with him to cross his midline, something Emmett really struggles with. The entire staff dressed up for the kids. It was really cool to see so many adults dressing up for Halloween just to make the kids smile. Towards the end of this video things get a bit....crazy.           If you would like to see more videos like this about Occupational Therapy, Click ---------->  Here

Doing what’s best vs letting them be kids

What's Best For Them? Here at the Lost and Tired house, we have an ever increasing dilemma. That dilemma revolves around things like holiday's, parties and most recently, trick or treat.  As a parent to 3 boys, in different places on the Autism Spectrum, the line between doing what's best or just letting them be kids is getting blurrier all the time. In speaking with many parents of children on the spectrum, I know that I'm not alone in this struggle. Right now, my biggest dilemma revolves around my oldest, Gavin. Elliott and Emmett, while on the spectrum, are better adept at handling these types of situations. That doesn't mean we don't deal with overstimulation and meltdowns for the next few days. However, that becomes more of an issue that affects Lizze and I and…
