32gb Motorola XOOM Android Tablet [GIVEAWAY]

I’m so completely excited to be able to offer this giveaway today. This is my biggest giveaway yet and can’t wait to get this started. This is not an Android4Autism device. I have not customized this with an Android4Autism ROM. This is a BRAND NEW 32GB Motorola XOOM android tablet. This XOOM is WiFi and Verizon Wireless 4G LTE ready, however, this device does not require any activation in order to use.

This device features a 1Ghz dual core Tegra 2 processor, a 5MP rear facing camera (records 720p video), 2MP front facing camera (for use with programs like Skype), 32GB built in memory and micro SD card slot (supporting up to 32GB cards). This tablet is amazing and the Android Market is loaded with educational apps that are perfect for kids with Autism. This device is running Android v3.2.2 (Honeycomb) and allows for complete customization (something you will not find on any iPad).

Motorola is stepping up to the plate and helping to provide families touched by Autism with an Android Tablet to aide in communication or education. They contacted me out of nowhere and asked if I would like one for my family and wanted to provide another one so I could give it away on my blog. How awesome is that? It’s really cool to see large companies like this, stepping up and helping those with Autism.

This is their top tier model and I’m so thrilled to be able to do this.

My kids love this tablet, especially Emmett (who has taken it over). The 10.1″ screen is bright and colorful and sports a resolution of 1280×800 (720p).

THANK YOU Motorola, I’m in your debt 🙂

Now for the giveaway.

This giveaway will begin 12:01am 11/24/2001 and end on 12/08/2011 at 12:01am. This is for the continental US residents only. Sorry but this is a localized device and I can’t ship outside of the US.

Trouble in the land of Gavin

Gavin has been having trouble today. For starters he has fallen several times already this afternoon. The first time was when he went to sit on the couch and completely missed. One of the last times he fell was going up the stairs. I really feel like I need to protect him from himself anymore. He also want inappropriately affectionate with Elliott this afternoon, causing Elliott to feel "creeped out", and his words, the not mine. We have dealt with sexual aggressiveness in the past with Gavin. I'm really hoping we aren't going back there. I want to think that Gavin wasn't doing this again and maybe he didn't mean anything by it. However, Elliott was very uncomfortable and ran downstairs to get me. We will reinstate the Gavin can't…

Terrible Tuesday with a twist of awesome

This post is done for sole purpose of me venting.  By sharing some of what I'm going to share with you,  I want to be very clear that I'm venting and not asking for anything.  Today has been a really,  really rough day.  Lizze is really in a tremendous amount of pain right now and there is no relief in sight. She can't even eat without getting sick and that greatly concerns me.  We were still using my parents car today cause the van is still in the shop. Actually.....while we're on the subject of the van,  let's talk about that for a second. I called Waterloo Transmission because I hadn't heard anything back from them.  Turns out they have been trying to call but due to the freaking awesome (total…

Today’s Victory: 11/22/2011

Today's Victory is brought to you by all three of my boys.  We had a rough morning but we also had a bit of absolute peace and harmony as well.  All three boys snuggled up together on the couch and watched a movie on NetFlix.  No one was fighting,  yelling or screaming. Not one person was hit or bit either. They just quietly sat there,  together and watched their movie.  I'll say that is a victory if I ever saw one.......   :-)

Let your voice be heard

I'm very big one sharing our stories.  I think that by doing so,  we allow others to have a better understanding of what Autism means to us,  both collectively and on an individual level. I love getting input from other parents touched by Autism as well as the adults with Autism. One of the things that I have been wondering,  but have never gotten around to asking is this. If you could make someone in your life understand,  and I mean truly understand one thing about Autism and it's impact on your life or the life of your family,  what would that one thing be?

It’s gonna be one of those days

While I'm personally in a good mood and feeling quite well,  I already know how this day is gonna go. Lizze is in really rough shape.  She is in a great deal of pain and getting sick almost every time she eats.  She'll spend a large portion on the day sleeping,  just trying to survive it.  Mr.  Emmett John is all over the place.  He spiked another fever last night so therapy is once again canceled for this afternoon.  He's actually in a good mood but very energetic. Elliott's doing pretty well today and will be going to my parent's house this afternoon to make home made pumpkin pie for Thursday. Gavin is still not feeling well.  Actually,  he says he's fine but his body language and aggressive cough say…
