The cycle of violence

Let me start off by saying that I'm not saying this is the case, it just feels this way.  I'm saying that it's eerily similar. I'm looking to see if anyone else has shared this type of experience. I have been noticing lately that there seems to be a certain pattern to Gavin's behaviors. I haven't pointed this out to Lizze yet because I'm not sure I should.  Although,  she'll be reading this at some point so I might as well. For those of you that don't know,  domestic violence is something that we,  in the Lost and Tired family take very seriously. Both Lizze and Gavin are survivors of domestic violence at the hands of Lizze's ex-husband (Gavin’s biological father). He was physically and emotionally abusive towards Lizze and…

The E’s are in rare form

Elliott and Emmett are in rare form as of late.  They can get along wonderfully one minute and than be at each others throats the next. I had the boys for 6 or 7 hours yesterday while Gavin was receiving his infusion. I pretty much lost my mind,  at least what's left of it. Elliott was whining and Emmett was screaming almost the entire time.  Needless to say,  no one took a nap either. Today,  Elliott was set off my Gavin manipulation and Emmett just responded to the increased level of stress in the house. I'm going to write a bit today and thanks lose myself in some Skyrim on the computer. Hope your day is going better... :-) **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join…

Trouble in paradise…already

Already had issues with Gavin this morning. Not listening and trying manipulate his brothers. Elliott and Emmett are going to Lizze's parents for the night and we were supposed to go to my parents for pizza tonight. However, we told Gavin that because of his behavior, we would not be going to grandmas and therefore not have pizza for dinner. His reaction was that he didn't care. It appears as though we did a better job of punishing ourselves than him. However, if we back down....we just can't back down. I suppose we could be a bit more creative. Maybe we still go but he doesn't get to eat pizza but instead has oatmeal. That's a bit more aggressive than I was planning on going with this. Plus, he would likely freak out…

Bella’s surgical recovery: Update 08/13/2012

I thought I would take a second and update you all on Bella's recovery from surgery this past Monday. She's doing really well.  She's not in any pain or discomfort, which is nice.  Emmett is taking excellent care of her.  She is however,  a bit to active.  As a result, we have to keep her tethered to the couch so she can't run around. The stitches come out on this coming Thursday, and then she should be cleared to return to her hyperactive lifestyle. **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. August’s antibody infusion: Success

Yesterday,  Gavin had his monthly antibody infusion.  Everything was pretty routine until about 15 minutes into the car ride.  Gavin began to enter an autonomic crisis. He became sick to his stomach and extremely light headed and dizzy. He lost all his color and he could barely hold himself up. Lizze notified the hospital of what was happening and they basically met her as she entered oncology.  They gave Gavin special meds so that he would vomit and make anything worse. After resting for a little while,  he stabilized and they proceeded with the infusion.  Because he was already having issues coming into the into the infusion,  and because he got sick after the last one,  they had to slow things way down.  He now gets and IV bolus of…

I’m soooooo tired of these meltdowns

Gavin is having a huge and I mean huge meltdown right now.  I managed to get him to his room and shut the door. I'm sitting outside his door and making sure that he doesn’t leave. At the moment, he's hitting himself with anything that he can. I'm way to friggin tired to deal with this right now so I'm not even watching him. I'm just going to sit outside the door and make sure he stays put.  Right or wrong,  I honestly want nothing to do with this right now. This whole thing is because he was caught lying to Elliott,  5 times. When approached about this he got upset.  The end result being that he doesn't get pizza for dinner like the rest of his brothers. That is…

#Autistic Artwork: de Blob

Elliott colored this today and wanted me to share it with everyone.  This is de Blob from the video game.  He did this entirely on his own and I forgot one,  think he did a fantastic job.  Enjoy... **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III.
