What it’s like to take 3 kids with #Autism grocery shopping

You may or may not be aware of this little tidbit of information but taking three kids with Autism to the grocery store is one hell of a challenging task. I try to avoid taking all three kids with me whenever it's possible because I'm trying to preserve what little sanity I have left. LOL As far as this challenge goes, it could be much more difficult and I'm lucky in that department. For the most part, my kids are pretty well behaved in public. There are of course, situations that are outside of their control and the dreaded meltdown will make a very public appearance. The boys all have their quirks and things that can present challenges but it's just part of who they are. Here are a few…

Review: Is the Shark Ion Robot Vacuum worth the money? (@sharkcleaning)

This review is sponsored by Shark. They sent me the new Shark Ion Robot Vacuum to review. The review contains my own opinions and thoughts as to the Shark Ion Robot Vacuum. I was not influenced by anyone or anything. Please help me share this review. Shortly before the recent holidays, I received a large box from Shark. If you're not familiar with the company, they make some pretty amazing vacuums and steam mops among other things. Inside this box was the brand new Shark Ion Robot Vacuum. Having never used one of these things before and only ever seeing one in the store, I had no idea what to expect. Below are my thoughts, personal experience and whether or not I would recommend this product to anyone. [foogallery id="68376"]…

Pictures of the hole in my back….because you asked

I've had a rather large number of requests to see the pictures I have of the whole infected cyst ordeal. The only reason I even have pictures is because Lizze took them at my request. I'm not able see what's going on because it's in the middle of my back, right on my spine. The pictures let me monitor the progress and help ensure I'm healing. Please be warned. These pictures are somewhat graphic and unpleasant to look at. Obviously, there are people out there that were curious as to what I was going through. I really can't believe I'm sharing these but I suppose they could be educational for some. To be honest, when I began dealing with cyst on my back, I looked online for any information I…

Review: The Guardian Helmet for #Seizures, #Autism and #Epilepsy

This review is sponsored by Guardian Helmets. They were kind enough to send over a Guardian Helmet for me to check out, write about, and hopefully raise some awareness. ☺ The purpose of this post is to bring a product to your attention that may be of benefit to some of my readers. This was a bit more difficult to review because this isn't something that my kids require. As a result, I've decided to simply present you with the information, give my thoughts on the build quality, discuss the potential use scenarios and leave it up to you, as to whether or not it's something that will benefit your family. Guardian Helmets produces a protective helmet for kids and adults that helps protect them from traumatic brain injury. There…

Review: Is the Anker Power Core II 10000 worth your money? (@AnkerOfficial)

This review is sponsored by Anker. They were kind enough to send me some goodies to review and use to help raise some Autism Awareness. The opinions on these products are my own and in no way influenced by anyone or anything. A few weeks ago, I received a box from Anker. Anker is the top maker of portable chargers, USB cables as well as other tech we use every day. This particular box contained their brand new PowerCore II 10000 portable charger. They also included two charging cables as well. The first cable was USB C (most commonly used with new Android devices) and the second was a Lightening Cable (exclusive to Apple). While I'm not going into to detail about the cables themselves, they are top notch and…

Pictures from the best day we’ve had in a long time

Lizze and I had a terrific day today and that doesn't happen all that often. The boys spent the day with their Grandparents, leaving Lizze and I a day to ourselves. ☺ The highlight of our time to ourselves was taking a nice long walk at the park. We ended up going on a light hike and spending the afternoon outside, on a beautiful day taking pictures. We grabbed Subway for a late lunch and caught up on a few shows. Lizze got a nap and I played some Wolfenstein II before boys got home. They finally arrived home around dinner time and we had a nice quiet evening before putting them to bed for the night. We have everything for their lunches already figured out and I'm hoping for…

Holy Shit! Gavin hit a MAJOR milestone tonight

Every once in awhile, the kids do something that completely blows me away. They always impress me but sometimes, what they do is a real game changer. Tonight, was one of those night for Gavin. For the last five years or so, Gavin has been receiving IVIG Infusions in order to treat his Common Variable Immunodeficiency. In all the hundreds of infusions, Gavin has always hated the needles and who can blame him. He's never liked them but at the same time, he's never complained. ☺ Over the years, he's slowly taken more and more responsibility for his infusions. He's gotten to the point where the only thing he wasn't able to do was put the needles in his belly. He has been to uncomfortable doing that and that was…

Thanksgiving 2017: The Good – The Bad – The Meltdowns

All things considered, we had a fantastic Thanksgiving this year. It was very low key and the food was amazing. I stuck with one plate because I'm trying to make better decisions, but it wasn't easy. My parents did an amazing job with everything and we are so thankful for all their efforts. I had assumed that because it was going to be so low key, the boys would do better. I was soon reminded of the old phrase, you know what they say about people who assume. The boys lasted about two hours before they began bouncing off the walls. My family is very patient with the kids but Lizze and I were very quickly getting overwhelmed by how hyper they were. Emmett had a meltdown because his piece…
