Operation Hope: Big Changes

Important note: I'm trying to post this around noon on Wednesday.  Due to our current Internet situation, I'm having trouble uploading anything to the site.  Right now I'm at the mercy of my incredibly slow T mobile data connection  that extremely hit and miss. This will be in the outbox to post when  the data connection on my phone is stable enough to upload.  I've been meaning to write about this for the last few days but I just haven't found the time or quite frankly, the energy. I received a phone call from Gavin's autonomic specialists office at the Cleveland Clinic.  The nurse was returning our call from last week.  Dr.  Moodley was back in the office and so she had a chance to speak with him about everything..…

Bad news for my readers

It's no secret that the Lost and Tired family is struggling right now.  I share with you what I feel is relavent and this is one of those times.  As of about 30 minutes ago, we lost our internet connection because we fell behind. This of course means that my computer is offline and has no access to my site. Typically, I could work around this by using the data connection on my phone.  Unfortunately, for the past several weeks, T mobile has be undergoing modernization.  Basically, they are upgrading the towers in my area to LTE.  This is great news except for the fact that data is down until that happens. It's been over two weeks now and they still haven't completed the process and switched things back on. …

I wish everyday would begin like this

We had a pretty good start to the day.  Both Gavin and Elliott got up, dressed and off to school with little to no problems.  Gavin does really surprise me but Elliott as of late has been challenging in the AM. I wish everyday would begin like this.  Great job boys.  :-) This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. The Tuesday Report: 05/21/2013

Behaviorally speaking, Gavin had a great day at school, once again.  Unfortunately, he had more health related challenges.  He was really tired again and even went though a period of nausea.  He eventually felt better and shortly after that I pulled both him and Elliott out of school be a use they had speech and OT....... Hopefully, we can get to the bottom of this stuff and help Gavin to have days where he feels better.  :-( This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. Emmett’s Lego Creation: The Rectangle

I was having a very emotionally difficult evening yesterday.  That's no secret. I had to take a time out from my struggles and take the boys to see Dr. Patti, their psychologist. Such is our Tuesday evening ritual. Lizze and I were bring Dr. Patti up to speed on all that has transpired in the last week, while the boys played. For whatever reason, Emmett decided to build a rectangle out of Legos and he gave it to us while we were talking.  A few seconds later, he comes back to reclaim the rectangle because he had remembered that he wasn't done yet.  When he brought it back the second time, this is what he had created.. What's really interesting about this seemingly simple Lego construction is that it isn't…

Elliott’s artwork: The Planets

Elliott came home from school baring gifts of artwork for Mommy and I.  This time it was a space setting, complete with a sun and planets.  There's even a satellite.  :-) Something that I look forward to everyday is seeing what new creation he brings home.  To me, what he draws can provide insight into how he's feeling that day or what he happens to be learning about.  Everything he creates is a little piece of himself and I consider that a precious gift.  This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. I don’t have the luxury of quiting

At this moment, I'm hiding in my bedroom pretending for a few minutes that I have the luxury of quiting. Quiting everything and just running away.. Of course, I don't have that luxury and even as I sit here, trying to be invisible, it's clear as day that I can't run away from anything, even if I truly wanted to. I'm feeling so incredibly overwhelmed today. What people just don't seem to get is that there is no break. There is no end to any of this struggle.  There are no easy solutions to anything in our life.  In fact, I've said it many times before, but all to often all I can do is pick the best of the bad ideas and try to make something work.  Please know…
