Today’s falling into place

The boys are at the baseball game and I'm off to my lunch meeting.  Today seems to be falling into place. The only notable exception is that Lizze is having a really, really bad day.  It rained last night and her body doesn't like the barometric pressure change.  I should only be gone about 2 hours and Lizze and Emmett will be snuggling on the couch watching The Avengers on Netflix.  Another snippet of good news was that I managed to get the Internet turned back on, at least for the short term.  When I get back, I'll tell you all about my super secret lunch meeting.  :-)   Wish me luck..... For now, I'll leave you with a picture of Elliott holding hands with a little girl in his class…

The Wednesday Report: 05/22/2013

Another day and another report from the school as to how Gavin did.  Typically, we're not dealing with significant behavioral issues, it more health related concerns. The teachers jot down what they see throughout the day and it comes home in this book. Yesterday Gavin had a fairly good morning.  He didn't experience any chest pain or anything like that.  :-) Basically, he's was just tired and went to sleep.  That's not uncommon anymore for him and may be made a bit worse by his morning meds.  Unfortunately, this is a tradeoff and while he's sleepy, he's not entering into a crisis. How about some good news for a change

While it's true that we go through our share of personal tragedies, on occasion things do work out.  When the star align and something like that happens, I'm always excited to be able to share the good news with all of my readers. Wednesday was a really stressful day.  I have a meeting tomorrow afternoon that I can't wait to tell you all about.  However, as far as today went, the stars were definitely aligned.  Let's begin with the biggest news first.  As you know, we have been fighting to keep our home.  We've fallen on hard times and we got behind and dealing with foreclosure.  I got a call from my uncle tonight letting me know that the mortgage company has finally come through.  Basically, we're not going to…

I learned an important lesson today

I found myself in a situation today where I wanted to apologize about the way I handled something.  It's not that I handled it wrong but I should have handled it differently.  Basically, I went after the Akron Aero's for something that turned out to be a misunderstanding.  The cause appears to have been a mailing error that if I had handled things better, I could have found out, without causing a stink. The situation has been resolved and I personally spoke to the director of media and public relations on the phone today because I wanted to personally apologize.   The Akron Aero's are a great organization and we have worked everything out and now more kids will be able to enjoy the game as a result.  The one…

Thank you @AkronAeros for working with our kids

I wrote a post the other day directed at the Akron Aeros.  After speaking with the school, we had learned that Elliott wouldn't be able to attend the game on Thursday with his class because the lunch menu had been changed to Peanut butter and Jelly.  As you know, Elliott has food allergies to peanuts and treenuts.   Eing surrounded by people that were ingesting these things would not be a wise move.  After all, they're kids and kids are messy. :-) I'm not sure where the miscommunication was but there was clearly a miscommunication.  Apparently, the lunch menu for Education Days has been PB&J for the past 3 seasons.  Regardless of what happened, I want to thank the Akron Aero's for stepping up and making it possible for my son…

Operation Hope: Big Changes

Important note: I'm trying to post this around noon on Wednesday.  Due to our current Internet situation, I'm having trouble uploading anything to the site.  Right now I'm at the mercy of my incredibly slow T mobile data connection  that extremely hit and miss. This will be in the outbox to post when  the data connection on my phone is stable enough to upload.  I've been meaning to write about this for the last few days but I just haven't found the time or quite frankly, the energy. I received a phone call from Gavin's autonomic specialists office at the Cleveland Clinic.  The nurse was returning our call from last week.  Dr.  Moodley was back in the office and so she had a chance to speak with him about everything..…
