I just wanted to drop you all a quick line and give you this week's status update of our CPS investigations. Unfortunately, there isn't a ton of news on this front.  However, I will be calling them in the morning to touch base and get an update.. We had to tell Gavin this evening that he must tell his invisible friends to stay in his room. This was a really awkward conversation to have with anyone, let alone your 13 year old son. While getting ready for bed tonight,  Gavin left his bedroom door open.  Because his door was left open, Elliott and Emmett were able to watch Gavin having a conversation with someone that wasn't there.  Lizze asked Gavin what he was doing and he responded with, "I'm telling Sonic about my day." At that point, Lizze and I spoke about how to address this.  We decided that for the sake of the greater good, Gavin would have to confine his invisible friends to his bedroom and keep them behind the closed door.  Gavin was really…

Before anyone hates me, I'm not anti-imaginary friends.  Let me explain my problem so that everyone can retract their claws.  The problem is not with imaginary friends per say.  Imagination is such an important thing to foster in a child.....heck....even in adults.  I love my kids using their imagination and  other Lizze and I,  actively encourage our kids to grow theirs.  Gavin's "imagination" is a main problem, at least in our house.  Again, it's not the fact that he uses his imagination that's the problem.  The problem lies in the fact that essentially, Gavin is schizophrenic. Put more accurately, he's dealing with schizoaffective disorder, which is basically a blend of bipolar and schizophrenia. Emmett's been stressing out because he couldn't decided what he wants for his birthday.  He's finally decided that he wants Lego Lord of The Rings for his 3DS. Now I just need to find it.  Best Buy probably has it, so I think I'll start there.  Wish me luck. While Lizze is in a really bad place today, painwise, she's feeling pretty good about her lab work from the other day. So far, everything that has come back, including the bloodwork for Celiac Disease.  This is really good news,  for those that may be wondering. The only thing left to do to confirm she doesn't have Celiac disease, will happen next month during her endoscopy.  The biopsies taken at that point will definitively tell us whether or not she has Celiac disease. At this point though, it's looking like she doesn't have it. Awesome............... I'll keep you posted as to what comes of the biopsies next month..... Today is Emmett's 5th Birthday.  It should be a day of joy and happiness.  While that is the case, it's also a day of misery and pain because Emmett has hit another fever flare, complete with painful mouth sores.  This makes him very grouchy and difficult.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers today.
