While Lizze is in a really bad place today, painwise, she's feeling pretty good about her lab work from the other day. So far, everything that has come back, including the bloodwork for Celiac Disease.  This is really good news,  for those that may be wondering. The only thing left to do to confirm she doesn't have Celiac disease, will happen next month during her endoscopy.  The biopsies taken at that point will definitively tell us whether or not she has Celiac disease. At this point though, it's looking like she doesn't have it. Awesome............... I'll keep you posted as to what comes of the biopsies next month..... Today is Emmett's 5th Birthday.  It should be a day of joy and happiness.  While that is the case, it's also a day of misery and pain because Emmett has hit another fever flare, complete with painful mouth sores.  This makes him very grouchy and difficult.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers today. The boys had therapy tonight with Dr. Pattie.  We had an interesting experience because while we were there, we got hit by a really bad storm.  We had trees falling over, power flickering in and off, hail and tons of rain. Elliott was pretty freaked out.  Having said that, at least we were in the right place to deal with that. Most of the time was spent talking about Gavin and his recent behavioral issues. We brainstormed some ways to address these problems and also discussed how it's very likely that nothing will work.  Sorta depressing but it's also the reality for us. I know that some of my readers feel that we are too hard on Gavin.  That the rules we have implemented are too strict or even cruel.  While I have stated countless times, the reason behind these rules, it still seems to fall upon deaf ears. Today was a perfect example of why we have to have rules like this.  It's so important to remember that there is a rhyme and reason behind everything that we do, even the stuff that is difficult to understand or that on the surface, appear mean or cruel. My sweet little Emmett John will turn 5 years old tomorrow.  He's had a long and challenging journey thus far but is here with us today and for that we are really grateful.  I haven't quite worked out the details of tomorrow's events but they will likely be simple.  We are of modest means and anything too exciting will just cause him to be overstimulated and miserable.  Right now he wants Little Caesars Deep Dish Pizza and Crazy Bread.  As far as birthday presents are concerned, he remains undecided and so we're working on that as well.  I can't believe that he's going to be turning 5.
