I've written many time about Autism Awareness.  Personally, I'm not a fan of the whole Light it up Blue campaign.  That seems more like a marketing campaign to me and not about raising awareness for our children and adults with Autism.  To each their own. That's just my personal opinion, you're obviously free to feel or think differently and I totally respect that.  :-) April is still a ways off but I think that we should begin thinking about what we can do as a community to improve Autism Awareness.  Personally, I would love to see Autism Awareness take a more natural and organic approach to helping people understand better what Autism is.  I fear that we have put our faith in organizations that may have lost touch with their…

Admittedly, I've been pretty wrapped up in my own family lately as I'm sure you can understand.  My goal is to get back to not only sharing my family's experience but also my thoughts and opinions on topics that impact the Autism and Special Needs community. I know that not everyone agrees with my opinions nor do I expect them to.  I've tried to be a voice of reason and provide relavent information, from both sides, so that you can make educated decisions. I wanted to share a little bit more about my family. The more you know, the more insight and perspective you have into our lives. This little tidbit of information is more about Lizze and I. Below is a picture of a very special bridge. This bridge changed the course of the lives of both Lizze and myself.  About 12 years ago, Lizze and I first met on this bridge.  I was on one side, walking my dog and she was on the other, with her cousin. This was the very first time that we saw each other. Lizze and I went out for some free fun tonight. We went to a local park so she could take pictures. This particular park has seen better days but there was tons of nature to photograph. Lizze had so much fun and absolutely thrives behind the camera. Anyway, I took a few pictures as well and I wanted to share them with you. We even ran across a baby raccoon as well.
