Phineas and Ferb at Grandma’s House

We had to go to my parents house to let the dog out while they were out today. The first thing the kids do is take advantage of the cable TV and turn on Phineas and Ferb. It's one of the rare times they get to watch the new episodes.  :-) This site is managed almost exclusively from my Galaxy S4. Please forgive any typos as autocorrect HATES me. ;-) Follow @Lost_and_Tired "Like" me on Facebook Visit the My Autism Help Forums To reach me via email, please Contact Me   Setup of an account with Bluehost and I get paid. Elliott’s first book report

So Elliott's working on his first ever book report. He choose rondos his report on hedgehogs. When we visited the Cleveland Zoo this summer, they had a hedgehog that he could pet. He became smitten. :-) We took him to the  library to get a few books on hedgehogs and he's been reading over them. Part of this project requires that he draw a hedgehog as well as cut it out and use it for a visual. This is a picture of the magic happening. Elliott drew some really cute hedgehog pictures. I thought I would share them with you. :-) This site is managed almost exclusively from my Galaxy S4. Please forgive any typos as autocorrect HATES me. ;-) Follow @Lost_and_Tired "Like" me on Facebook Visit the My Autism Help…

More like warring factions than brothers

I don't know about your kids but mine don't seem to be getting along this morning.  In fact,  they are acting more like warring factions than brothers.  I suppose this is normal, at least to some extent but that doesn't exactly make it easier to cope with. They just seem to be pushing each others buttons today and I'm not entirely sure why. Perhaps they are trying to drive me insane? Maybe they smell my weakness and sense my fear? Whatever the reasons, I'm feeling like this is going to be a long day. :-( This site is managed almost exclusively from my Galaxy S4. Please forgive any typos as autocorrect HATES me. ;-) Follow @Lost_and_Tired "Like" me on Facebook Visit the My Autism Help Forums To reach me via email,…

The boys let us sleep in :-)

The boys woke up at the buttcrack of dawn once again.  This time however, the gods of sleep were looking out for us, and thankfully took pitty on us. All three of the boys occupied themselves for several hours.  They waited until a more reasonable hour of 8am before insisting it was time for breakfast. Can you say awesome.. Team Gavin: Medication Update

During our last appointment with Dr. Moodley at the Cleveland Clinic, there was a medication change that was scheduled to take place today. One of the treatments for Gavin's Autonomic Dysfunction is Ativan.  Gavin was taking Ativan at .5mg in the morning and .25mg at night.  The morning dose is a contributing factor to Gavin falling asleep after breakfast. Today was the last time he's taking Ativan as a preventative measure. From now on, Ativan will only be used during a crisis.  As long as Gavin remains stable, this will stay in effect.  If anything changes, we will speak with Dr. Moodley and reevaluate.  This change should make the mornings at school a bit easier for Gavin... :-) This site is managed almost exclusively from my Galaxy S4. Please forgive any…

I have reason to be positive

We have officially ended the third week of school.  All three of the boys are doing pretty well and I'm super stoked to be able to tell you that.  I'm so proud of them and excited that they are adjusting so well.  We've had a few hiccups along the the way but nothing that we couldn't handle.  I'm feeling like we have finally begun hitting our groove.  I can honestly say that I'm very hopeful that we are going to have a great school year.  I've got reason to have a very positive outlook. :-) This site is managed almost exclusively from my Galaxy S4. Please forgive any typos as autocorrect HATES me. ;-) Follow @Lost_and_Tired "Like" me on Facebook Visit the My Autism Help Forums To reach me via email,…

Working together for Today’s #Autism Victory

The boys made their own Lego city today, although it's not made of Lego’s exclusively.  Either way, all three boys worked on this together and that makes it pretty friggin awesome if you ask me. I wish there was a pill for commonsense

As I've shared many times before, I'm not a huge fan of meds, unless they're needed.  I feel that in the right situation, medications can make a huge difference in someone's life. It's with that said, that I put this out there.  I wish that there was a pill that could give someone commonsense. I of course, have Gavin in mind with this.  One of the things that concerns me about Gavin, aside from his health, is his lack of commonsense. Gavin absolutely lacks commonsense and that's not something we can teach him. This is one of my biggest concerns when it comes to Gavin's future independence. Lacking commonsense is something that I think will dramatically impact his ability live on his own. Maybe I'm wrong, but based on what…
