I love my kids always.  Nothing will ever change that. Being a parent to three special needs boys, fighting, screaming, hitting and yes, even bitting is something that I have become used to.  Having said that, there are times when I blown away by the way they can show compassion for each other.  Earlier today, Elliott was having a rough time.  Out of nowhere, Emmett walks up to him and gives him a big hug.  Typically, Elliott would be freaking out because he doesn't always like to be touched.  However, Emmett's hug must have been just what he needed because he just smiled.  If you look closely at Elliott's face you can tell that he's got a smile on.  :-) This makes me feel like, despite all my failures and…

I don't know why we didn't notice this on Friday. Apparently, Emmett didn't have a good day at school.  This is pretty much out of character for Emmett John.  Not sure what was going on.  Perhaps he just had an off day.  We all have bad days and kids with Autism are no matter exception. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to my family.  You already know Lizze and the boys but you don't know the family I came from. Let me introduce you.  Going from left to right.  Tim, Jon, Brian, Jen, my Mom (Barb), Me, my Dad (Bob)  and Kate. I wanted everyone to know that we finished up our board meeting at the Autism Society of Greater Akron and made it back in time to get to my Dad's surprise 60th birthday party. While I can't go into specifics but I will say that our board is comprised of some truly amazing and passionate people. I've got to be in Fairlawn in about an hour and a half.  Unfortunately, I'm not feeling too well this morning, at least thus far.  Hopefully, moving around a little bit will help things out.  I really don't want to miss this meeting because I'd feel like I was not living up to a commitment I'd made and I don't like doing that.  With that being said, I can only do so much. Today's a pretty big day for me.  I will be attending the Strategic Planning Meeting of the Autism Society of Greater Akron this morning.  I've never been to one of these but both myself and my new friend Mike are Ambassadors to Stark County.  Originally, we were both going to be sitting on the Board of Directors/Advisory Committee but that's been tabled for now.  I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed but it makes more sense to do things this way, at least for now.  We are going to be meeting in Fairlawn from 9am - 1pm.
