There are times when routine isn’t a good thing
Sometimes routine is a very bad thing
Sometimes routine is a very bad thing
NEVER say to an Autism parent that, they just need their butt whooped. Not only is that pretty ignorant but it's pretty do insensitive as well.
It was like a train wreck because I hadn't intended on having this discussion with him in front of the boys but he wouldn't stop talking. It got to the point where Elliott and Emmett were pointing out the inconsistencies in his story. I then told them to stay out of it as it wasn't their concern and I told Gavin to keep his mouth closed until we get home.
I have to be honest, washing my hands of Gavin's school work, while the right approach, feels terribly irresponsible.
Anyway, I wish I had been in a better place this morning but thanks to Maggie and my nap, I'm in a better place for when the kids get home from school.. That's probably more important.
This morning has been an absolute nightmare. I've been up since 4:30 am because both Elliott and Emmett woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep. Shortly after, the fighting began. :-(
I really concerned about Gavin because he's not getting over this respiratory bug. His cough is much worse than last week and Lizze and I are hesitant to send him to school because he has a severely compromised immune system to start with.
This is just one of the many different things that a special needs parent is concerned about when they decide that something may not be good for their child with Autism.
