Most of is know that Autism parenting can bring with it many, many challenges. It's exhausting and frustrating as well. That being said, there are also moments of peace and tranquility, where everyone is getting along. I can sit back and relax for a minute because in these moments, everyone is happy and at peace. I refer to this as the lighter side of Autism.
Lizze and I were talking about this last night because we were trying to figure out if anything had changed. Sometimes it's really tough to tell if anything changed. Here's where we stand for now
It's so easy to tear myself down over what I feel are weaknesses or inadequacies on my part. I find that more often than not, I catch myself comparing my parenting abilities to that of the typical parents I'm surrounded by all the time. Read more at the link below

The boys are off today for some weird reason, making it a three day weekend. Gavin will be getting blood drawn for two reasons today. The first is for his Clozapine. They're looking at his white blood cell count. The second is related to his immunoglobulins. This is looking at his specific levels to find out if we need to adjust his IVIG dosage. After the bloodwork, we need to hit the post office and grocery store. We're pretty much out of everything the boys will eat and its been a tough last couple of days. Thankfully, I can go shopping today and hopefully stay within a modest budget, while getting the things the boys will actually eat. I'm really tired but I'm also feeling like I'm in a good place…

It's going to be hard to chalk today up to a win because for the most part, it's been a disaster. Lizze had a really hard time sleeping last night, which meant I had a really hard time sleeping last night. It was one of those nights where bad dreams really created havoc. We ended up oversleeping a little bit this morning and the tone for the day was set. Elliott did an amazing job of getting dressed and ready to go this morning. That stood in strong contrast to what it was like with Mr. Emmett. Emmett ended up not going to school today because he wasn't able to tolerate clothes on his skin at all. It's like he woke up more hypersensitive than normal. That being said, this…
