Day 3…..

I got up at 6:30am with Mr. Emmett John. Everyone else soon followed. I got Lizze up to to takeb her meds. I was hoping she'd eat something and move around a bit but she just went back to bed. Everyone is basically dressed and ready to go. Elliott and Emmett are already at each others throats. I have a bunch of running around to do today. I need also call the doctor and see what they want to do about Lizzie's lack of activity and her history of blood clotts. I also have to follow up on her surgery and convince insurance to cover it. We got up early this morning so I had a minute to post and get my day off to a good start. Thanks again…

Day 2 down….

Today has been very trying for me... I searched for hours for pills that were never missing (see the previous post) in the first place.  Lizze slept for about 20hrs today.  To be honest I am getting concerned because she has a history of blood clotts and with her lack of activity now, I'm getting a bit worried. Emmett has been a holy terror all day long. You can see in the picture just challenging he is. He did that several times today and it only takes him a minutes to destroy it again after I fixed it all up. School starts again in the morning and that will be lost of fun. Things I managed to do today: Laundry Dishes Gutted and cleaned the kitchen (looking for phantom pills)…

Day2 starts out with a bang…well more of a crash

I got Lizze up this morning to take her meds. They have fully kicked in now as she is very sedated. She went to get the pill container down and the lid popped off and dozens of pills went every where in the kitchen. The pill organizer is kind of a bad design. I'll have to do something about that at a later time. I have spent the past 1.5 hours trying to locate the last 4 pills and  can't find them. They are huge and easy to see. I have pulled the kitchen completely apart and they are not there. My guess is that maybe Lizze counted wrong and we did find all of them. I can't take any chances right now with Emmett/Gavin who put's EVERYTHING in there…

1 down, God only knows how many to go….

Well I made it through the 1st day of Lizze on her new meds. Lizze slept about 18 hours today. I woke her in the morning to eat and take her meds. Then at lunch and dinner to eat and take her meds also. The kids were a handful today. Gavin was driving me nuts but was also very helpful at the sam time. Emmett spent all day screaming and hitting. Elliott spen most of the day whining and crying (cause either Emmett hit him or he didn't get his way). I managed to make dinner and do some dishes. That was about the extent of what I accomplished. I need to do a ton of laundry in the morning if I can. The kids will need clothes for school…

Autism and Anxiety (Video Blog)

Today's brief topic is on Autism and Anxiety. I want people to understand how even the simplest things  (most take for granted) are significantly more complicated for families like mine raising Autistic children. Pampers actually refused to help us out. We wanted to simply order and pay for just one kind of diaper. We are going through 80 -100 diapers every week or so because Emmett destroys the non Grover diapers. He typically won't wear clothes so we can't hide the diaper from him. He really does panic and have extreme anxiety when we put a different diaper I know it sounds weird but it just how he responds. It pretty typical for Autistic kids to react this way to things that change...

Night 1……

Night 1 is now over with. At some point Elliott had a bad dream and climbed into bed with us. Emmett did sleep through most of the night and got up about 6:30 am. Usually he is up between 4 and 5am so this was nice. He however, soon realized mommy wasn't waking up and completely freaked out. It took a while to get him to settle down. So all the kids are awake and our day has begun... I need to make a run to the store at some point and pick up a few things. Those of you with a child(ren) on the spectrum know what I face taking all 3 of my kids to the store. Nothing about that is going to be pleasant. It is however,…

It begins…

Lizze started he new meds schedule tonight. She starts the 2nd part in the morning. I really hope the kids sleep tonight cause I'll need all the sleep I can get. I need to get water and Emmett's chocolate Almond milk in the morning. He goes through that pretty quick but it's the only "milk" replacement he can drink or will drink for that matter. Have a great night and thanks again formally the support.. -Lost and Tired
