Unfortunately, the trip to the hospital didn't work. Lizze's migraine came back yesterday morning. It never actually broke but the pain killers worked to bring the pain level down a bit. However, that was short lived.  Lizze is scheduled for an occipital never block in 2 weeks and a headache infusion in 3 weeks. I'm really hoping the migraine just breaks before she needs to have these done. The occipital never block is a VERY painful procedure and is not always effective. The headache infusion will take 3 days.   Please say a prayer we get this under control before the procedures are scheduled.

I picked the boys up from school today. Today is Wednesday and that means Gavin has his blood work today. Normally I would drop Elliott off at home and then take Gavin but today was different. Lizze was not feeling well and Emmett was sick so they were sleeping. I had to take Elliott with us. We were talking about their day discussing what was going to happen at the doctors office. I reminded Gavin that if he's brave then I'll get him ice cream. I told Elliott that I would get him ice cream as well but he had to behave. They were both very excited at the thought of getting ice cream. ~Houston we have occupational therapy~ Emmett FINALLY begins occupational therapy today. We have been on a waiting list FOREVER. He goes at 11:00am for speech therapy and then occupational therapy at 11:30am. Then he goes to school around noon. This will be a busy day for him so he is currently napping with Lizze. These days are pretty tough on Emmett and so he can be in a....less than pleasant mood. He really enjoys going but it just takes a lot out of him. Hopefully, we will start seeing some progress as far as sensory related issue are concerned now that occupational therapy has started. For right now he will be going once a week to OT and twice a week to speech. He does still get a little of both while…

Lizze was given Toradol, Reglan,dilatid (spelling....bad). She also was given zofran for the nausea. Right now she is pretty doped up but feeling relief. Cross your fingers and pray that the migraine is finally broken.

Lizze is waiting to be seen by the doctor. We have to overcome the stigma of chronic pain and medicaid. There are judgements and assumptions made about people with chronic pain like Fibromyalgia and people on assistance. It's wrong but it happens. I worked in the emergancy medical field a very long time and I saw it happen quite often. Not everyone is abusing the system not everyone is a drug seeker. Sometimes life is just to much and you need help. Some times you have 3 special needs boys that require tremendous sacrifice and public assistance is one of the pills you have to swallow in order to help your children. I'm taking Lizze to the ER. She has had her migraine for like 28 days now (I think). She is at the point of feeling like she's going to pass out from the pain. I'm taking her and sending the kids to the grand parents. I want to make sure she isn't looked at as a drug seeker and they actually try to help her.   Please say a prayer that she finds some desperately needed relief from the month long migraine.

~Autism and wandering go hand in hand. A very dangerous combination~ I have an escape artist on my hands. I have written about this before but up until now Emmett has never "escaped". Emmett John has gotten out of the house 3 times over this past weekend. We have 3 locks on the front door plus an alarm system. What Emmett does is unlocks the door and simply runs. We are spread pretty thin and so, at times, my attention is elsewhere. He has learned to exploit these lapses in "security". I've gone out several times to get new "baby" proofing things.
