Complications and difficulties

It's Friday and that means we have survived yet another week.  I know that sounds really positive and in a way I suppose it is.  However,  you'd be surprised what you can live through ;-) This has been a trying week and I'm thoroughly exhausted from it.  Unfortunately,  there's no end in site.  Lizze woke up this morning and in so much pain that she's barely able to move.  Gavin's supposed to be at a birthday party in a couple of hours. I'm not sure how that is going to work out now. I want to make sure that Gavin gets to go,  as I feel it's important for him to take this next step in life. Lizze,  is sleeping right now and we are hoping she will feel better…

My First Podcast

I have been toying around with this for awhile now. I have never actually released anything that I have recorded because I just wasn't sure it was something that I wanted to do. However, as of late, I'm having a harder time writing my thoughts down. This is one solution I'm looking into as a means of getting my thoughts out there. So anyway, I thought I try this out and see how this works. This is kind of a quick setup but if I continue this going forward I'll figure out a better setup. Today's topic is: school, IEP, ETR and where do you draw the line....   [powerpress]

Priorities

I have spoken on occasion,  that I have decided I need to make some changes,  re-prioritize if you will. I like to think that I can handle much more than I probably should. What happens is that because I'm stretched myself so thin,  I can't seem to get much done or at least done right.  I think that sometimes it's important to take the time to reevaluate things in my life and make sure that my focus is where it should be.  Does that make sense? When you are a special needs parent to 3 boys on the spectrum,  there's never a shortage of responsibility or things that need to get done. The problem is that distraction,  at least for me,  is inevitable. I'll start on something and get pulled…

Bad parenting??????

I make it a point to never judge someone for their parenting.  I feel like,  you never have the whole story so how could I possibly begin to understand what is actually going on.  With that said,  I became a judge wudgy angry person today.  I was at the local WalMart to pick up a few things before getting the kids from school. As I was leaving the store I heard screaming and I mean screaming.  I look over and off to the side there is this woman screaming, at her daughter.  This little girl is maybe alittle older than Emmett and Emmett is only 3 years old.  She had 2 other young children with her along with her boyfriend or husband.  This woman is screaming at the top of…

Fun Fact for 9/28/2011

When Elliott says to me,  "just one more question Dad",  what he really means is I just want to keep endlessly talking until I can think of another question to ask. It's kinda like using your last wish to wish for more wishes. ;-) - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing tools and disadvantages of a bastardized version of auto-correct. Gavin has his first birthday party

Gavin will be going to his very first friends birthday party this Friday.  This is really the first year that his behavior has been good enough to allow for something like this.  In the past he was far to volatile and was very prone to violence.  It was safer for him and everyone else to just avoid these situations. However,  Gavin has made some major behavioral progress this year and we have decided he's ready for this new step.  Needless to say we are very proud of him and excited that he will be able to do this.  He will be going bowling with his friends from school.  I'm sure who's more excited about this,  me or Gavin. - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic…

Please make it stop

So Emmett was back in school today.  However,  we were reminded why we don't want him in Canton,  City schools...more on that later. All was good with the world.  My amazing wife let me sleep in until 10:30am this morning.  However,  Emmett came home from school and is complaining of his mouth hurting.  He appears to be getting the mouth full of cold sores....again. He's in a great deal of discomfort but we can't give him the prednisone until we can confirm the sores are present and wouldn't you know it but Emmett won't let us look.... We were advised to get in contact with the state and report the school.  At this point we are seriously thinking about home schooling him until we get him a better school.  He's…
