Remember, I said I try to find humor in everything? Well this was one of those times. Elliott and Emmett are at each others throats constantly. Elliott is extremely anxious and Emmett can be very aggressive. Elliott's anxiety is likely due to Aspergers and just the situation in general. Emmett is aggressive because he struggles with speech and expressing what he needs or wants. Sometimes, there appears to be no rhyme or reason for Elliott's anxiety and Emmett's aggression. I don't even know what got this little fued started but they were both pushing each others buttons. This is a very common occurrence in the Lost and Tired house. Emmett had a blast,  as usual.  If you're wondering why he wearing his winter coat while in the swing,  here's why.  We are having a very difficult time getting Emmett dressed.  He just doesn't tolerate clothes very well right now.  With winter quickly approaching,  we thought it would be good to practice with a winter coat.  This way he can get used to it before he really needs to wear it. His OT suggested that he bringing with him to therapy and they will incorporate that into his sessions.  So far so good.  He wore it for a bit while we were there. We had a very traumatic evening last night and a very busy day today.  Emmett was very upset after seeing what he saw last night. Lizze and I wanted to provide a distraction for him today.  So after OT,  we took him McDonalds and got him lunch and let him play on the indoor play ground.  He had a blast. To be completely honest, Lizze and I needed the distraction as well.  I find myself jumping at every car that drives by and Lizze was already dealing with PTSD before last night,  so you can imagine how she's doing.  It felt amazing to spend the day with Emmett today. I wanted to thank you all for the outpouring of support since last nights events (I can't stop shaking) . I intend to reply to every comment and the mountain of email as well. Right now, I just in one of those, life flashed before your eyes, kinda of places. I found out this morning,  as Lizze and I were talking,  that she was not in the van when this happened.  She had gotten out of the van right after I did. When I made the decisions I did last night,  they were split second decisions based on the fact that I thought Lizze was still in the car.  Learning that she was in harms way as well makes this so much more difficult to deal with. I posted this morning about my two youngest reducing to flush toilet paper rolls down the toilet this morning. This was honestly, the last thing I needed to be dealing with today. Based of the advice of my readers, I decided to get some Drano. However,when reviewing my options, none of them specified where or not they work on those pesky things like, toilet paper rolls. I figured, it's just thin cardboard and should break down on its own. Emmett and Elliott decided it would be fun to flush toilet paper rolls down the toilet. Rather shove them down the toilet. Now nothing will flush. I have plundged and snake that freakin' toilet all morning but it's still a no go. My hope is that the cardboard will eventually break down enough to flush it down or plunge it out. I'm hoping this makes sense. We had a very close call tonight and right now I'm still shaking... I'm hoping that by writing this down I can start to relax. So if this seems kinda scattered, understand that is's all I can do at this point. We were coming home from taking Emmett to the doctors because he has been screaming all day long and ended up missing therapy today because we couldn't get him dressed..
