Are you kidding me?

You know something,  our kids are given these scissors to use in preschool. I remember the teachers testing my kids ability to use these scissors as part of their evaluations. Not that it's a huge deal,  but have any of you ever tried to actually use these things.  I was trying to cut some paper while making dinner this evening and these freakin' things don't even work for me most of the time,  how can we expect our kids to use them?  :O I get the whole safety scissors thing but couldn't someone invent something that is equally safe but actually functions?  - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing tools…

Another night of therapy

Tuesday night in the Lost and Tired house means...therapy. Since Tuesday has found us once again, we have found ourselves at therapy tonight. I have Gavin and Elliott with me at Dr.  Pattie's and Lizze is chillin' with Emmett at home. Elliott is playing PlayDoh with Dr.  Pattie and talking about school.  Gavin is playing corn hole.  It's really a great time for the boys and Dr.  Pattie is really good at what she does.  Elliott is getting help and doesn't even realize it.  ;-) I love. Tuesday nights.. I just wish we didn't have to make it through Monday to get there. - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper…

WOW… Ok

So Elliott was playing around with the Androidify app on my phone yesterday.  Androidify is an app for Android devices that lets you create your own little,  custom Android..person, thing,  logo or whatever the little green guy is. It got me thinking...again.  I should let the boys each create their own character to represent them on the blog.  I figured,  it would tie in great because we use Android for a lot of things and with the whole Android4Autism thing....you know..it seemed like a good idea. Seemed is the operative word here.  Elliott created his own character yesterday.  As a parent,  I want to embrace the creativity of my children...I really do. I think I may have to hit the try again button,  I'm not sure Elliott's character...um..represents him..  I…

Aggression

Emmett is becoming more and more aggressive,  especially towards Lizze.  We had thought that things were improving,  however,  in reality we may have just been in the eye of the storm. Lizze has cuts and scratches on her face from Emmett.  I don't know what his rational for basically assaulting Lizze is.  I know it's demoralizing for Lizze and frustrating for everyone else.  I don't know how we are supposed to stop this or at least curb the behavior. - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing tools and disadvantages of a bastardized version of auto-correct. Haircut and Playground

These are some pictures from today's events.  Elliott got a much needed haircut and also was able to get some wiggles out as well. We managed to get all of this done in the 1.5 hours that Gavin was in therapy.  We had a pretty good time and Elliott looks even more adorable than before...if that's even possible :-) - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing tools and disadvantages of a bastardized version of auto-correct. The corndog mystery

The other day,  Emmett had a corndog for lunch.  Not the healthiest of choices but it was something other than dry Ramon Noodles for a change. Anyway,  after putting his lunch on his little picnic table,  I went to get him something to drink.  When I came back,  he was gone.....and so was his corndog. After looking around in his favorite hiding places,  including the dog kennel,  I moved my search to the 2nd floor. The last room on the list was the first place I should have looked.  When I opened Elliott's bedroom door,  this is what I saw.  Emmett was sprawled out,  half on the headboard or his bed and half on the window sill.  The TV was off but he was just sitting there,  all alone and…

Meltdown Managed

I think it's important to help people understand some of what families like mine go through. This meltdown in particular was very, very mild.  However, I thought it may help someone to see how we managed it. It's important to note that I have to handle Gavin's meltdowns in a........certain way, otherwise he will escalate. We have found that this type of approach works best to bring him back from these meltdowns. Your milage may very but I just want to demonstrate what I do to manage these situations. Gavin, got himself under control rather quickly. So my hats off to him on this one. It may sound weird to some but he really did control himself well here.

Leaf me with a smile

Emmett and Elliott have been collecting leaves.  They were very fond of these two in particular.  I honestly don't know why.  However,  they were happy and that's what's important.  Seeing them happy warms my heart and always leafs me with a smile :O - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing tools and disadvantages of a bastardized version of auto-correct.
