Emmett started Physical Therapy today

Emmett began Physical Therapy (PT)  this afternoon.  We have been waiting for this for a while now.  He basically had almost 2 hours of therapy today. He began with OT.  Then he went to speech and finally PT.  He did really well and is throughly exhausted.  You would think that the amount of hell he raises at home would be reduced in proportion to his level of exhaustion but sadly that is not the case.  He is currently raising hell with his brothers without missing a beat. :-) - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing tools and disadvantages of a bastardized version of auto-correct. Cat Poop for Breakfast

One of the things I stress to parents is that perspective is an amazing thing.  Even the slightest shift in perspective can yield a dramatically different outlook. Cat Poop for Breakfast We took Emmett to Dennys this morning for breakfast.  We rarely get to do this but today he was asking for sausage patties,  so we thought we would get him out for a little bit after taking the boys to school. Emmett is experiencing a very independent streak at the moment. So after we were seated,  he insisted on ordering for himself. I ordered a bowl of oatmeal and Lizze ordered some eggs and toast. Then it happened, and this is how it went down: Emmett:  I order Daddy: Emmett tell her what you would like to have. Waitress:…

Frustrated Much?

I'm absolutely frustrated with Gavin.  I'm very aware that majority of my frustrations revolve around behaviors that are outside of Gavin’s control. However,  just because they aren't his fault doesn't mean they aren't frustrating and exhausting. I'm making the conscious decision to be honest about this because if I'm not,  it won't do me or anyone else,  any good.  I don't want to hide my feelings because that would be denying the truth.  I think that my best bet for long term survival is to purge from time to time, in order to help offset the level of stress I'm constantly under. As I already said, Gavin is driving me crazy.  He's not listening and repeating the same inappropriate behavior,  over and over again.  I honestly,  don't even know why…

Here is today's picture of the day.  Elliott is posing with Gavin's hat on (which is much to big) and looking extra cute. - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing tools and disadvantages of a bastardized version of auto-correct. Rough days at school

Elliott had another rough day at school today.  He's having a bit of a tough run lately. We're not quite sure what's going on but there appears to be anxiety and possibly ADHD. He's currently being evaluated by the school in order to find. Do put what services,  if any,  he would benefit from. I truly hole that this is just a transitional thing and not a sign of things to come. Gavin on the other hand,  is having great days at school.  We would expect him to be struggling but instead he's thriving....at least as far as behavioral things are concerned. - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing…

Flushing a good day down the toilet

Today was going pretty well until a few minutes ago.  First,  Gavin comes downstairs and wants to know if he can shut the door to Elliott's bedroom because it's giving him scary thoughts.  In layman's terms,  he's seeing things again.  This is not good.. Elliott was already sleeping on the couch so I told Gavin to shut the door if it makes him feel better. After he went upstairs,  I sat on the couch thinking about what had just happened. I was wondering what this meant for Gavin. My thoughts however, were rudely interrupted by the sound of gunfire. I'm not sure where it came from but it was pretty close. Like I didn't already have enough to think about. - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via…

Sensory Bombs [Giveaway]

I have partnered with the Jillian McCabe, the maker of Sensory Bombsto provide three of my readers with five FREE Sensory BombsSensory Bombs are a tool to help your special needs and/or typical children with bath time and subsequently bed time..

Sensory Bombs are calming tools that offer a highly effective sensory experience. In essence, they are like a weighted blanket for the bathtub; they make the water heavier and provide evenly distributed pressure that “hugs” the muscles and joints. As a result, the child is relaxed, moisturized and able to transition into a restful sleep.

Picture of the day: 10/31/2011

Today's picture of the day is brought to you by Akron Children's Hospital.  Well,  at least that's where I took the picture.  I want to get one of these for my house to remind the kids to slooooooow down.  Unfortunately, I don't think it would work.  One can dream though...yes? - Lost and Tired Posted by Wordpress for Android via Samsungs Epic Touch 4G (provided to me at no charge by Sprint) without the use of proper editing tools and disadvantages of a bastardized version of auto-correct.
