Elliott’s Treasure: 05/12/2012

Elliott has lots of little treasures. He loves collecting action figures and playing with them as well.  This morning,  Elliott was digging through the toy box and discovered a long lost treasure.  This particular treasure was his long lost Ash, from Pokemon action figure. He is so excited to be reunited with his toy that he asked me to take a picture and share it with ya'll. I absolutely love his smile :-) **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store

Another early day

Some things got to give.  The boys keep getting up at these God awful hours and can't go back to sleep. I ended up on the couch after Emmett climbed onto our bed at the unholy hour of 3am. This is getting old,  real fast. Lizze and I need our sleep. **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store

Grass seed and bubbles

Today,  Elliott and I spent some quality time together. I have been trying to improve our yard and make it more pleasant for the boys. We have a lot of dead sports in the yard so Elliott and I planted grass seed and it's finally taking off. We had a large area of naked dirt and Elliott planted someone grass seed and then we watered it together. While we were doing this,  we reviewed plant information,  including how and why it grows. When we were done,  we blew bubbles for awhile and watched Bella chase them all over the yard. Good times :-) **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store

Today’s Victory: 05/12/2012

Today's Victory is brought to you by Downtown Ford. I usually stick to awarding these to my kids but in this case,  Downtown Ford deserves the spotlight.  They have taken care of almost all our problems with our new van.  We have to go back for one minor thing but it's not a big deal. Chad in service was very friendly, professional and patient.  I just wanted to publically thank them for all their help.  We were without a car after the van was stolen and they helped us replace it. When the van had problems after the sale,  they stepped up and took care of it. Thank you.  It's so nice to see our van when I look out the window :-) **Thanks for reading**        -Lost…

Lost and Tired’s Looney Bin

I wanted to just sorta put this out there. It may stupid but it's kinda fun and if feels good at the same time. I'm always joking about how I'm gonna end up in the Looney Bin. While I'm totally,  well,  mostly,  joking around,  it does feel like that sometimes. I recently began using Foursquare to kinda track everywhere we have been.  I was having a really bad day a few weeks ago and I decided to look for my new happy place.  Long story short,  I never found it.  However,  I did find something good else that works. I added a place called Lost and Tired's Looney Bin to the Foursquare database. Now,  whenever I get really frustrated,  I simply check myself in. You know what,  it sorta actually…

Today’s Victory: 05/11/2012

Today's Victory is brought to you by Mr.  Emmett John. As many of already know,  Emmett is an extremely eater. We really have a hard time feeding him. There are a great many textures that get in the way of him eating more fruits and vegetables. Today however,  he requested a banana. I gave him one and he actually ate.  He ate a friggin banana.  This is amazing because he never eats things like this. Way to go Emmett,  we have plenty of bananas,  eat all you want my little monkey.  :-) **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store

Today’s #Autism Discussion: Sexually Inappropriate Behavior

Let me start this one off by saying that I fully realize this is a sensitive subject.  While it may be difficult to talk about,  it's a very important topic.  As our kids get older,  they will become more aware of these things.  I'm not saying that they will understand,  but they will likely become more aware. How do you help guide them through this difficult time?  How do you address sexually inappropriate behavior,  if and when it presents itself? Is this time more difficult for boys or girls? **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store

Our van comes home today

I'm pretty excited because I just got the call that our van is ready to go. New torque converter,  new remote start and a bit of body work. While the van they loaned us was nice,  it wasn't ours and when you do have a lot of material things,  it really nice to drive your own car.  As much as I hate making a car payment,  it's a really nice van and we were very lucky to get financed.  The stars aligned that day and while we are paying for it, I'm really grateful that it worked out as well as it did.  Thank you Downtown Ford for getting us back on the road,  just in time for our return to the Cleveland Clinic next week. **Thanks for reading**  …
