Today’s Victory: 05/23/2012

Today's Victory is brought to you by Elliott Richard. He is easily the pickiest eater in the Lost and Tired family but today,  my little man actually ate a bowl of oatmeal for dinner. Awesome job Elliott.  :-) **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store Posted from WordPress for Android

Elliott and Emmett: Under the weather

Gavin seems to be doing better and that's awesome.  However, Elliott's sick and Emmett's starting a flare.  This is going to be a very unpleasant couple of days.  :-( **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store Posted from WordPress for Android

Tuesday Night Therapy: 05/22/2012

The boys had therapy tonight with Dr. Pattie. This is the favorite day of the week. They absolutely love Dr. Pattie and she is amazing with them. Tonight, she spoke with us for awhile and then played with Emmett in the play kitchen. Emmett loves pretending to cook.  I wish we still had our play kitchen but we got rid of it a few years ago. This is really the only break we get from all the boys at one time.  Needless to say,  we love Tuesday night therapy,  as much,  if not more than the boys do. Honestly,  I personally live for Tuesday nights. The boys had fun tonight and they actually got along. Elliott did a really good job of using his words,  especially when it came to…

I believe I can fly

I've said this many times before but I will say it again.  Emmett and Bella are a match made in heaven. Bella is very well tempered and is the ying to Emmett's more aggressive tempered yang. They're like peanut butter and jelly, or magnets and paper clips.  They are simply made for each other. However, they both suffer from the same problem.  That problem being the belief that they can fly. Emmett is always jumping off of things in an attempt to take flight.  I admire his tenacity but I just don't think he's built for flight. Apparently,  Bella has the same problem.  Today,  I let her out side after Maggie was already outside.  She was so excited,  that she through caution to the wind. In what appeared to be…

The weird ways we sleep

Gavin sleeps in the most bizarre ways.  Many times he sleeps with his eyes open,  which I have dubbed creepy sleeping because it's creepy. Other times he sleep all contorted in positions that just don't seem comfortable. I went in to check on him this morning and found this.  :-) **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store Posted from WordPress for Android

Autonomic Crisis 05/22/2012: Update 6:30am

Gavin arrived home after a brief 7 hour stay in the ER. The CT scan came back clean,  as did his blood work. He received fluids but there isn't much else they can do.  Gavin did stabilize and so he was released last night. He came home and went straight to bed.  Lizze and I stayed up for a little while as discussed the hospital trip. Gavin's neurologist made an appearance and talked to the ER doctors.  Lizze asked if we should have kept him home or if we overreacted.  They said that we made the right call and that he needed to be seen.  The problem is just that there is very little that they can do for him. The problem resides in his brain and there is no…

Autonomic Crisis 05/21/2012: Update 09:19 pm

I just heard from Lizze.  Gavin is hooked up to an IV and is receiving fluids. Apparently,  they are going to do a head CT as well.  This is the 2nd time in a month that he has suffered one of these episodes.  His speech is slurred, he's disoriented and so they are concerned about his brain. That's all I know right now and I will be passing more along when I get it. Thank you all so much for the thoughts and prayers. :-),  **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store Posted from WordPress for Android
