Breathing a sigh of relief

Our immunologist left me a message this afternoon telling us not to worry. She explained that while the numbers were low,  that it's pretty consistent with Gavin's previous levels.  Basically,  it would be alarming to someone who does have his previous results in front of them to compare to. That's what happened. Nothing was done maliciously and we aren't upset with anyone.  If you think about it,  it makes sense.  If you didn't know that these were in line with previous results,  it looks pretty bad. The doctor said that more than one of the levels were low and so his next infusion will see an increased dose of IVIG.  Hopefully that will help to bring his levels back in line. I think the next step would be a second…

We received bad news: Update

After a horrible nights sleep,  I was counting down the minutes until 9am when immunology began taking calls. Lizze and I are really in a panic about this and desperately need answers to either put our fears aside or decide in which direction we are to proceed. I have left a detailed message and should be hearing back from them sometime soon. I won't lie to you,  this wait is going to feel like an eternity. However,  as soon as I hear some,  good or bad,  I'll update you all.  Thank you again for your continued thoughts,  prayers and support. **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress…

#Autism: Two Pea’s in a pod

Elliott and Emmett don't always get along. Emmett tends to be a bully and Elliott is typically the victim. However,  when they do get along,  it's really nice to see. This morning,  Elliott and Emmett were snuggled on the couch and watched their current favorite show,  Big Big Friends. I like grabbing a picture and sorta freezing that moment in time.  The pictures serve as a reminder to me that they can get along,  especially when things get really bad between the two of them. **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. What makes Elliott Richard smile

The boys received a box from UPS this afternoon. Lizze's parents were in Disney World last week and sent some presents for the boys. Elliott has been smiling from ear to ear.  He and Emmett both received a Mickey Mouse and Gavin received a shirt and a new hat.  They are all really happy with the souvenirs. **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. The impact of bad news

Lizze has had a really rough day.  Her pain has been unbearable,  both physically and emotionally. She has pushed through it for the sake of the kids but at great personal expense. I doubt that tomorrow will be any better. One of the ways that I know just how bad things are for her is the collection of animals around her. When she is in as much pain as she is,  the animals seem to know and refuse to leave her side. It really is an amazing thing and it happened again tonight. Lizze fell asleep on the couch tonight and is buried under a blanket of animals. They act as a pseudo weighted blanket and provide her with comfort,  while often times annoying her at the same time. They…

Gavin’s Lego Creation: Lego City

Gavin created what he calls Lego City today. He made this on his own but Elliott wanted to be in the picture with him. It's pretty intricate and he once again used as many Lego’s as he possibly could :-) He has some thing about the way he values his creations.  The more Lego’s he can cram on there,  the more he values it.  That’s one of the reasons we tend to run into issues with Lego’s. There is never enough to go around.  **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. Today’s Victory: Robin Hood

While today has been anything but a victory,  I'm doing my best to remain as optimistic as possible for the rest of the Lost and Tired clan. With that said,  I wanted award a Today’s Victory.  I actually started this post before we got the news this morning about Gavin's health. Today’s Victory goes to my oldest son,  Gavin. He has just finished reading another book.  This time it was the classic Robin Hood. He read it in only a couple of days and I think this may actually be the second time he's read this book,  cover to cover. He also wanted me to make sure that I share with you that this book had 20 chapters. We require that Gavin spends time reading every day because if we…
