Wednesday Occupational Therapy and Speech: 08/08/2012

Emmett had therapy this afternoon. He did awesome once again. He is so excited to be back that he can't decide what he wants to do.  He lost a great deal of strength during the 4 month insurance based banishment from the help he so desperately needs.  It's going to be an uphill journey to get back where he was but I know without a doubt that between Emmett's tenacity and the dedicated staff at Concorde Kids,  he'll get there. **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. The nose bleed

Elliott got so upset this morning,  that he gave himself a bloody nose. I don't know how to help the poor kid.  He's just really,  really struggling right now.  As soon as records are received by his pediatrician,  we'll able to start something for his anxiety. Until that time,  it's gonna be a bumpy ride.  I'm going to spend for one on one time with Elliott and try to bring his anxiety down. I have just way to much to do and since Lizze can't drive right now,  this is very challenging. **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III.…

#Autistic Lego Creations: Submarine

Elliott created this Lego Submarine and is very,  very proud of it.  He even created an escape sub,  incase they take on water.  :-) I love to see these #Autistic Lego Creations because they give me insight into how his beautiful mind works.  :-) **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. I love my kids, I love my kids, I love my kids

Today is one of those days where I need to remind myself that,  I love my kids,  I love my kids,  I love my kids...... They are each in rare form this morning and my sanity has been placed on the endangered species list. Do you ever have one of those,  I love my kids,  I love my kids,  I love my kids....kind of day? **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. When your child is afraid to go to sleep

Elliott is afraid to go to sleep anymore.  For some time now, Elliott has been shaking in his sleep.  The shaking wakes him up and he immediately has the sensation of falling.  This terrifies him and understandably so.  He's been checked out my the neurologist because there was concern that these were actually seizures.  However,  as it turns out,  this is a phenomenon that is relatively common in kids and is usually out grown. Basically,  what happens is that Elliott's little body is purging excess energy. Think of it as a spring being pulled and stretched out. At some point,  the spring can't stretch anymore and there is a release of energy as the spring comes back together. Does that make sense? I don't know of this is more common…

#Autistic Creations: Bumblebee

Yesterday,  which at Tuesday night therapy,  Elliott and Emmett put these little guys together.  I cannot for the life of me, remember the name of the game these things come from.  Anyway,  Elliott called his Bumblebee.  Emmett wanted everyone to know that his critters butt is soft and doesn't really sting,  so don't be scared. Too cute.  **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. All wrapped up

I thought I would share a picture of poor Ms. Bella Jane.  She is all wrapped up and looking extremely comfortable.?  Thankfully,  she's very sedated and not feeling much.  She'll be sedated for the next 10 days,  in order to allow her to recover.  We need to keep the bandages on for the next 4 or 5 days. That is of course,  if we can. **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. Tuesday Night Therapy: 08/07/2012

We see Dr.  Patti in just a little bit for our regular,  Tuesday night therapy session with the boys.  This is everyone's favorite day of the week cause they love seeing Dr.  Patti. Tonight we are going to focus on Gavin for some of the time and Elliott the rest. While Gavin is making better choices overall,  we are starting to notice some concerning behavior.  He's slipping back into some bad habits.  For example,  he is treating Lizze one way and me another.  He goes to great lengths to not let me witness what he says to Lizze.  I don't like that at all and neither does Lizze.  He seems to be a bit more scattered in his thoughts lately.  The other thing we noticed is that he is constantly…
