I love my kids, I love my kids, I love my kids

Today is one of those days where I need to remind myself that,  I love my kids,  I love my kids,  I love my kids...... They are each in rare form this morning and my sanity has been placed on the endangered species list. Do you ever have one of those,  I love my kids,  I love my kids,  I love my kids....kind of day? **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. When your child is afraid to go to sleep

Elliott is afraid to go to sleep anymore.  For some time now, Elliott has been shaking in his sleep.  The shaking wakes him up and he immediately has the sensation of falling.  This terrifies him and understandably so.  He's been checked out my the neurologist because there was concern that these were actually seizures.  However,  as it turns out,  this is a phenomenon that is relatively common in kids and is usually out grown. Basically,  what happens is that Elliott's little body is purging excess energy. Think of it as a spring being pulled and stretched out. At some point,  the spring can't stretch anymore and there is a release of energy as the spring comes back together. Does that make sense? I don't know of this is more common…

#Autistic Creations: Bumblebee

Yesterday,  which at Tuesday night therapy,  Elliott and Emmett put these little guys together.  I cannot for the life of me, remember the name of the game these things come from.  Anyway,  Elliott called his Bumblebee.  Emmett wanted everyone to know that his critters butt is soft and doesn't really sting,  so don't be scared. Too cute.  **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. All wrapped up

I thought I would share a picture of poor Ms. Bella Jane.  She is all wrapped up and looking extremely comfortable.?  Thankfully,  she's very sedated and not feeling much.  She'll be sedated for the next 10 days,  in order to allow her to recover.  We need to keep the bandages on for the next 4 or 5 days. That is of course,  if we can. **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III. Tuesday Night Therapy: 08/07/2012

We see Dr.  Patti in just a little bit for our regular,  Tuesday night therapy session with the boys.  This is everyone's favorite day of the week cause they love seeing Dr.  Patti. Tonight we are going to focus on Gavin for some of the time and Elliott the rest. While Gavin is making better choices overall,  we are starting to notice some concerning behavior.  He's slipping back into some bad habits.  For example,  he is treating Lizze one way and me another.  He goes to great lengths to not let me witness what he says to Lizze.  I don't like that at all and neither does Lizze.  He seems to be a bit more scattered in his thoughts lately.  The other thing we noticed is that he is constantly…

The Lost and Tired family is whole again :-)

Ms. Bella has just arrived home.  Emmett came outside but didn't realize that Bella was with me because he was distracted by Elliott and Gavin.  I walked Bella into the yard so she could go potty.  Emmett finally saw her and his eyes lit up and he came running down the steps into the yard.  He fell to the ground in front of her and wrapped his arms around her. This would have been a priceless photo, accept for the fact that she was pooping at the time.  :-) He just couldn't wait for her for finish.  It's safe to say that she is happy to be home and we are overjoyed to have her back.  It's amazing how you can sometimes not truly appreciate someone or something until they…

Bella comes home today :-)

I'm so excited to share that Bella is indeed coming home this afternoon. I spoke with the vet's office this morning and she is doing really well.  Emmett is really excited to have her home,  as is the rest of us.  Maggie has been lost and heartbroken since we left with Bella yesterday and came home without her.  She's been sleeping in Bella's kenel during the day and just looks really sad.  Dogs don't have object permanence so when someone or something leaves,  they don't understand that someone or something can or will come back. She will be so happy to see her little friend.. **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store…

Tuesday Occupational Therapy and Speech: 08/07/2012

Elliott and Gavin had therapy this afternoon. I've been running around like crazy all morning.  However,  we made it to Concorde Kids with time to spare. Elliott and Gavin both did really well.  Elliott was even patient while he waited his turn. After therapy finished up,  we left to pick up Ms. Bella for the vet.  I'll let you know how that went on another post. The boys really love going to Concorde Kids and really benefit from the therapy. **Thanks for reading**        -Lost and Tired Please join our Autism Help Forum Look for "Autism Help" app at the Google Play Store This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung's Galaxy S III.
