I need your help…Please

I just realized that my posts haven't been pushing through my network the past few days. I think I fixed the problem but I want to test to make sure everything is working. That is the test post to ensure that this is going through the entire network I have set up.   I would appreciate it if you could please leave a comment letting me know how you found this post. ie: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN, ect. For Facebook, please specify if you found this on the Lost and Tired community page or my personal timeline.   Thank you very much for your help. :-) Just trying to work out the kinks and your feedback is essential.

Breaking up isolation with chores

Elliott and Emmett have been playing/fighting upstairs in my room for a little while now.  I called Gavin down in order to put his energy to good use.  I had Gavin help me around the house for a little bit.  We got most of the downstairs cleaned up.  Gavin loves to clean,  so it was like a a break for him.  However,  it served a purpose and helped me to get caught up in the house before Lizze got home.  I need her to take over for a little while because I have a deadline to meet today for an article and I'm almost done with it. Pulling Gavin iht of his room defeated the purpose but let's be honest,  it's not going to make a difference.  He could stay…

Do your kids ever drive you bonkers?

I love my kids.  I love them more than anything in the entire world. I would die for my kids in a heart beat. Obviously,  I hope it never comes down to that but if need be.... Having said that,  my kids can also drive me completely bonkers.  In fact, today is one of those days where they they have me at the very brink of insanity.  Emmett has been screaming all day,  literally.  Elliott is egging him on and shedding tears over every little tiny thing. Lizze went to the store with her mother to try to finish our back to school shopping and has left me home to manage the chaos.  :-( To add to the stress,  Gavin has been letting himself out of his room and tippy…

The return to school 2012

Tomorrow is the first day of school for Elliott and Gavin. Elliott is going to do great once again.  There will likely be a period of adjustment for him but he'll be fine.  Gavin on the other hand is a mystery.  I have no idea how his return is going to go. There are a great many factors to worry about,  his health being the biggest concern. I have great concern that this return to school is going to be more than his body can take. Time will tell.  Lizze and I will have to speak with the school about his new restrictions and he will likely have to sit out of Martial Arts and recess.  We're going to have to see how those things go and decide what to…

Let’s talk #Autism and penny pinching

In the first of hopefully many reader requested #Autism Discussions,  here is today's topic. Let's be honest,  unless you're independently wealthy, life as a special needs family is a fine balance between paying the bills and desperately trying to meet the needs of unique needs of our children. My family is no exception. Over the years, we have learned ways to pinch pennies and cut corners.  These tips and tricks have become essential parts of my family's survival. Imagine if we all pooled our tips and tricks together. Imagine if we all share our money saving tricks or tips on how to balance your family's finances. It could literally make all the difference in the world. When you can worry about money a little less, you can worry about your…

I want to hear from you

Here at Lost and Tired,  I make it a point to listen to my readers.  I do my best to not only share my personal experience but also a sounding board for you to bounce ideas off of. Something that I'm really,  really proud of is that I am helping to create dialog about things that I feel are important but all to often go unsaid. I absolutely love the level of engagement I have with my readers,  who have all become like a huge extended family to us. You may have noticed that I've been asking questions in an attempt to gain insight and facilitate discussions on topics that I feel are really important and worthwhile conversations. I thought that I would ask you all to share with me…

Today’s #Autism Victory: Brushing of the teeth

Today's #Autism Victory goes to both Elliott and Emmett,  who brushed their teeth without a problem tonight. Tooth brushing was a nightmare for so long.  Every morning and night we battled to do at least a decent job of cleaning the teeth.  Then we discovered the Phillips Sonic Care toothbrush and everything changed.  Long story short,  the boys are much more willing to brush their teeth now and actually seem to enjoy it. If you would like more information,  send me an email and I'll get back to you. Please note that this is not a plug or paid advertisement.  I've written about this before and I wanted to recognize my boys for the fine job they are doing.  :-) This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung’s…

Happy 9th Anniversary

Today marks 9 years since Lizze and I exchanged vows. Wow, 9 years is a long time,  especially in today's society. I'm really proud of that and I know that Lizze is as well.  So much has happened in the last 9 years alone,  that I wouldn't even know where to begin if I were to try and recount it.  Despite all the heartache and pain, the constant stress of being a special needs parent and major health issues, we are still here.  Not only are we still here,  but we're here together. I was hoping that I would find some truly profound words to help convey how happy I am that we've made it this far,  but the have eluded me thus far.  As you all know,  I'm rarely…
