The super tooth

Elliott just arrived home from the dentist and it's fair to say he's traumatized. There was a cavity forming where the tooth was broken. They had to drill that out but Lizze said the dentist was amazing with Elliott. ;) Turns out that Elliott broke his tooth opening his sippy with his teeth. He apparently never thought to let us know. Anyway, they drilled out the cavity and capped the tooth until it falls out at some point in the future. The dentist told him it was a special Batman tooth. Whatever works, right? The one thing that he kept focused on was coming home and building his own levels and puzzles in Portal 2. He's super psyched. Once again I have to say, whatever works. Elliott wanted to see…

Is there a game or TV show your child loves but you hate?

Emmett and I are hanging out this morning. So far we have built Portal guns out of Lego's, watched Phenias and Ferb and now we are playing a game on the computer while he eats a snack. We're playing Sonic Generations and I can't stress enough how much I hate Sonic the freaking Hedgehog. Gavin killed it for me when he was younger. He became totally obsessed with everything Sonic the Hedgehog. All he endlessly talked about was Sonic and it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Having said that, the boys love Sonic, so I just grit my teeth and bare it. So....with that in mind, is there a game or TV show that your child loves but you can't stand? Please share with the class.. ;)…

Healing the broken tooth

Elliott is on his way to get his tooth fixed. I'm not sure what they are actually going to do because it's a baby tooth. Strangely enough, he doesn't seem to be in any pain right now. Thankfully, he's not very nervous. Hopefully, that will remain the case for the duration. I've promised him some extended Portal 2 time when he gets back. That will give him something to focus on. He patiently waited to leave this morning by sitting on the couch and watching TV for a little while. This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung’s Galaxy S III. Hiding from the light

Things are so bad for Lizze any more she literally hides from the light because it hurts her eyes. She fell asleep on the couch, hiding under a pillow to escape the pain inducing light. I wish there was something more we could do to help her. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung’s Galaxy S III. The miracle

One of my favorite things in life is watching how Emmett is with Bella. For a child with autism to come out of their shell as a result of a puppy, I think that's amazing. In fact, it's a miracle... Every time I watch them together, I realize how lucky we are that they have this truly amazing bond. This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung’s Galaxy S III. Almost called the police of my son

Gavin had a huge tantrum tonight because he didn't listen and ripped something out of Emmett's hands.  It got pretty ugly and the boys were hiding in Elliott's room while I managed Gavin in the living room. While he wasn't aggressive towards anyone but himself he was extremely loud and disruptive. It got so bad that we took his stuffed animal, after repeatedly warning him. That really set him off. It was at this point that I threatened to call the police. This was not an empty threat either. This would be an absolute last resort because Elliott and Emmett would be completely freaked out by that, possibly more than they were by the tantrum itself. Gavin kept screaming not my teddy, not my teddy. I was like, how about…

Testing the limits

This morning began with more Gavin related issues. We have had to make a rule that when he's in his bedroom, he needs permission to leave.  This is a huge PITA but it helps to ensure everyone's safety. This morning, Gavin asked me if he could use the bathroom.  I said sure, gobuse the bathroom.  I was in my room,  still waking up. Next thing I know,  Lizze is standing there asking me if I had given Gavin permission to go downstairs.  I said no, because I hadn't.  Apparently, Gavin told Lizze that I had given him said permission to leave his room and go downstairs.  That simply was not the case. Lizze and I have told Gavin,  over and over again that we will always check with each other…

What the hell

What the hell is wrong with society. The Canton Repository just posted a follow up to the article I posted earlier (see It's Really Scary). They arrested two suspects believed to be responsible for the triple shooting that happened about a block or so from my house over the weekend. They were kids, one was 16 and the other 18. This is absolutely insane.  What's wrong with the world, that our kids are doing things like this? Here is the article as posted by the Canton Repository, all credit goes to them for the article. I'm simply quoting. CANTON-Detectives arrested an 18-year-old city man and a juvenile after three people were shot early Sunday morning in a 12th Street NW apartment. Devione C. Mitchell, 18, of 1718 Regent Ave. NE,…
