Another night on the couch

Elliott is sick and I think we may try to get him in to be seen today. His throat hurts to the point that he is not talking and Elliott is a talker.  Because he has asthma, we have to be a little research careful. Right now Elliott is sleeping and I hope that in the morning he's feeling better and his fever will have broken. This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung’s Galaxy S III. It’s the time of year for a big pot of soup

My phone just belted out a weather alert.  We have a frost advisory on affect for tonight and tomorrow morning.  We already have leaves on the ground.  It's the perfect time of year for a huge pot of chicken noodle soup. I love to cook,  so this is a good day for me.  I have the chicken boiling right now and will sneak in all the veggies in the morning.  I love making good, healthy food for my family and a hot bowl of chicken noodle soup on a frosty evening is just awesome.  Do you have any favorite, seasonal foods? No school in the morning :-(

Elliott has been vomiting all day long.  For the last hour or so, he has been sleeping.  He hasn't had much sleep in the last 2 days, so this is a good thing.  Clearly Elliott will be kept home from school on Monday.. Lizze and I think this is either a sinus infection or a head cold.  The vomiting is caused by post nasal drip and a way too sensitive gag reflex. This is going to be a very,  very, very, very long night.... Again. This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung’s Galaxy S III. Please forgive any typos. Please keep Lizze in your thoughts

If you don't mind keeping Lizze in your thoughts, I would really appreciate it.  She's really struggling with this 8 or 9 month old migraine.  She having a hard time just moving around.  She can't eat without getting sick and her tremors are pretty bad as well.  I'm going to call the Cleveland Clinic in the morning and try to get her into the headache clinic sooner than November 29th.  Lizze doesn't normally vocalize how bad she's feeling but there no hiding it anymore.  Please keep Lizze and all those with chronic pain disorders in your thoughts and prayers.  I dot know how they cope with what they are living through.  I do know that they are courageous people who face enormous obstacles everyday.  This was posted via WordPress for…

The Best Daddy in the world award

The other day,  Elliott awarded me the Best Daddy in the world.....award. The award consisted of 2 stickers, one a truck and the other GI Joe.  While I don't happen to agree with his assertion of my parenting skills, it's still an honor to know that my child thinks so highly of me.  :-) I only hope I can live up to that.  :-) This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung’s Galaxy S III. How could someone help your special needs family?

I get a lot of different people reading this blog everyday.  Most are special needs parents but some are friends and family of special needs parents or just people that want to learn more. This is a really rare opportunity because if we embrace those wanting to better understand and learn,  we can take part in educating them about #Autism.   Taking it one step further,  we can also help empower them with the knowledge of home they could reach out and help a special needs family like yours and mine.  So today's #Autism Discussion is going to be, how could someone help your special needs family? Please share some ways that someone could help your family.  I think that many people want to help but simply don't know how.…

One with the pukies

Elliott has spent the morning vomiting.  I don't think it's the flu but instead post nasal drip that's behind the purging of everything in his system. Elliott has the world's most sensitive gag reflex.  He's probably developing a head cold or something similar. He's very clearly not feeling well and he's all sorts of cranky right now.  The mission for this Sunday is one of rest and recovery.  Unfortunately,  my guess is that Elliott will probably not make it to school tomorrow.  However, maybe he'll be feeling better in the morning. Fingers crossed.  It's not that I don't want Elliott to stay home from school,  per say.  It's just that the combination of Elliott and Emmett just doesn't mix well lately.  We get a break from the fighting while Elliott…

Wide Awake

It's currently about 7am here in the Lost and Tired house and Elliott has been up since about midnight. At the time, he said he had a nightmare but now denies it.  I'm thinking he probably has forgotten. Lack of sleep will do that to you.  I'm not sure why he's like this at the moment and honestly,  I don't think he does either. I already know that this is going to be a very,  very long  day.  This was posted via WordPress for Android, courtesy of Samsung’s Galaxy S III. Please forgive any typos.
