#Autistic works of art: Good enough to eat

When the boys spent the night at my parents house this past Friday, they were busy making edible art.  This particular candy turkey was created by Elliott, specifically for me. He knows my favorite color is green and so this was mostly green.  :-)  Isn't he just as sweet as this turkey looks. I thought I would share this with you all because I just thought it was really cool.

When I said I needed a break, I didn’t mean my finger

I have been known to make statements like, I wish we could catch a break. I think many of you can likely relate to that feeling.  Let me offer you a piece of advice.  Be careful what you wish for. Actually, be more specific when wishing for something.  When I wished for a break, I didn't mean a broken finger. I don't know what I did or how it happened but I'm quite confident that it's broken.  I haven't had it checked out because there's not much to do for a broken finger, beside splint it.  My finger has been this way for at least the last few weeks and I have no memory of hurting it.  However, I can't squeeze the trigger on Emmett's Nerf Dart Gun. Lizze has…

Report cards are in the house

We received report cards for both Elliott and Gavin.  I'll start with Gavin. Gavin received all A's and B's this quarter and we are super proud of him. He needs to work on a few things but considering everything, this was fantastic. Elliott on the same note, did extremely well also.  He managed to squeeze out nothing but A's this quarter. We are so proud of him and he's pretty proud of himself. To celebrate their victories, we are grabbing a couple of $5 pizzas for dinner.  This is one of those moments where I can look back over the last 9 weeks and say,  all the effort was totally worth it.  :-)

Ain’t got no fleas

Emmett and I gave Maggie and Bella each baths today.  We wanted to get whatever was causing her allergic reaction, off of her.  She did pretty well and Emmett did awesome.  He used his little watering can to rinse her off. Both dogs smell fresh and clean and I'm pleased to report no fleas.

Operation Hope: Paused for Thanksgiving

Gavin has arrived home for possibly the next 3 days. The reason for this is because the boys don't have school all week and Lizze's parents work during the day.  We feel that it would be less traumatic for all involved if Gavin were to just stay home these three days instead of bouncing back and forth.  That would prove to be very stressful on the E's. There is an off chance that Gavin may be able to stay with my parents.  Believe me, we will jump on that if it becomes a possibility. Elliott and Emmett are already so stressed out. I have no idea what to expect. I also don't expect to have any significant problems with Gavin because he hasn't been home for a long time, so…

I’m still here

I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for helping to keep me online. I have been able to move to a better server. Im still experiencing some hiccups but I'm no longer being throttled. Hopefully this will hold the site for some time. However, with the constantly increasing server requirements due to increased traffic they said that I may have to ended up on a dedicated server at some point. Right now, I'm just grateful to be back up and running. Thank you all so much. ...

6am and the screaming has already begun

Emmett woke up this morning and is already screaming.  He apparently decided to watch something in Elliott's room but Elliott wanted to watch something else. This triggered a shit ton of screaming. For some reason, I feel like this is going to be one of those days.....

Looks like things actually worked out for once

Crazy Glue can't fix everything everything. I mentioned in my last post that I crazy glued Bella nail, in order to secure it and hopefully avoid a trip to the Vets. It worked great stuff first.  Unfortunately, without thinking, I let the dogs out and Bella broke the same nail even more.  She came in the house and left a trail of blood everywhere.  This time however, the boys were home to experience this. The nail was in much worse shape than it was previously and we resigned ourselves to have to remove it ourselves. It just needed snipped off, so that it could heal. I called my Dad because I wasn't sure how this was going to go and I wanted backup in case I needed it. Emmett was…
