Why I’m saying GOODBYE to @Sprint

Let me just go on the record as saying that I don't necessarily believe that my recent experience with Sprint represents the entirety of the company. I'm sure their areas that get much better service and customer service representatives that do their job quite well. This is just my personal experience. Yours may be different than mine After being a Sprint customer for many years, with a brief break to explore greener pastures, the Lost and Tired family is saying goodbye to our longtime cell carrier. Here's the problem that we along with millions of other customers are facing, data speeds.  Data on the Sprint network, at least in the areas of Ohio that I frequent, is essentially useless. Personally, I'm someone who uses a good bit of data. We…

Return of the Tantrum

Gavin has been home less than 24 hours and has already had a massive tantrum. I'm watching all three boys while Lizze is at a family function.  This is really important to her because she needs to spend time with some of her family while she can. Anyway, here's what happened. Gavin and Emmett were playing with a slinky on the steps. While they were playing, the slinky was dropped over the side of the steps and tangled up in the cord for the Christmas tree. Let me just say that I hate the slinky. However, putting my personal disdain for the slinky aside, I fixed it for them once again. I simply asked how the slinky got tangled in the tree.. I explained that no one was in trouble, I just…

At least someone slept

Elliott actually seems to have slept pretty well.  Hopefully this will put him in a good mood today.  Lizze has a family function today and so I will be blessed with all 3 boys, by myself and for the entire day. Gavin's actually doing pretty well but he still has to be constantly supervised and that's exhausting. Having said that, today's family function is very important to Lizze so I'll just suck it up and muscle through the day. Again, at least Elliott slept...

What the heck happened?

Alright, I promised an update and so I thought I would cram them all into one post.  Let begin with this mornings wraparound meeting at the school. If I had to describe it in one word, I would probably say, success. While not everyone was there, it was a productive meeting. Some really great ideas were kicked around and we began building the framework necessary to move forward. Although, I do need to say that I think I'm most grateful for the fact that I believe everyone is much closer to being on the same page than we were before.  Admittedly, being on the same page is difficult when dealing get with child like Gavin, because he only let's certain people see certain things. . That for me is a…

Sitting at the end of a very busy day

We have all just arrived home. I'm pretty sure this has been the longest day ever. I have quite a few updates to write, however, right now I have to close my eyes for a few and try and recoup enough to finish the rest of the night.

Operation Hope: 1st Wraparound team meeting

In about 15 minutes, Emmett and I will be entering our very first Operation Hope, team wraparound meeting.  This is the meeting that will help to get the ball rolling on our funding petition for Gavin to be placed in residential care. This will be a really small meeting because it will be Dr. Patti, Gavin's teachers and our wraparound coordinator, Shelly. Of course, myself and Emmett will be in attendance. Lizze is actually with Gavin today and won't be able to attend.  I'm also hoping that this will be short and sweet because I'm exhausted from being up with Elliott last night.

Elliott is refusing to go to school

Elliott is refusing to go to school today. I've never seen him like this before. He's upset because one of his teachers has been out sick and it's thrown him off. Something is very clearly bothering him but he won't talk about it.  ......God grant me the serenity....

I really have to get it together

One of the big problems with having as much in our plate as we do, is the fact that it's impossible to keep up with everything.  At this exact moment, I'm personally managing almost half a dozen crises.  1) I have everything with Gavin.  2) Then I have everything that's going on with Lizze.  3)We have gravely ill family members. 4) Elliott is seriously struggling with anxiety and his new food allergies.  In fact tonight, despite our best efforts, he came into contact with something that has him breaking out in hives.  I had to make a midnight run to Wally World in order to get him Benadryl to control the reaction.Thankfully it was minor enough that the Benadryl was enough to address the anaphylaxis. 5) We are scheduled to…
