Do you ever feel that you just can’t win??

Do you ever feel that you can't win? Like, no matter what you do or how hard you try, you're gonna lose? I'm having one of those days today.  I've been battling with the bank because they allowed a $1,200 check go thru when there was only $2.43 available. This is really bad but there's not much I can do now, so freaking out, isn't going to help. I'm trying to do this whole Operation Hope thing, as well as keep Gavin's health stable. Gavin moving home has stirred things up, even though he's doing well right now. Lizze didn't sleep at all last night and is in a great deal of pain today.  Although, to her credit, she pushing through it.  Christmas is less than a week away and…

The bands back together

Today is Gavin's first day back. So far so good.  We actually have all three boys home today because the school is going on a field trip to the roller rink. Because of how poorly Gavin's body coped with the martial arts promotion, roller skating had to be out of the question. It sucks but it's just not worth the risk right now. Elliott didn't want to go roller skating so we kept him home as well.  Lizze and I kinda had to laugh because one would think that roller skating would be very difficult for kids who tend to struggle with coordination already. That's the case with my boys anyways. Elliott did push through his fear yesterday and went through with martial arts promotion and even broke a board…

Anyone else tired of Bank overdraft fees?

Yesterday was a really bad day.  We had Gavin to the hospital and had to move him home. While in the middle of dealing with that crisis, I get an email notification that my account is overdrawn.  It happens to the best of us. However, when I read further down the email I almost puked.  This particular account had only $2.43 available and yet PNC allowed a check for $1,200.00 to clear the account.  I'll leave you to do the math. It's not pretty at all. Let me give you some background. 11 months ago, our van was stolen and subsequently totaled out.  We had put the better part of $6,000 worth of repairs into into it that year.  We had just put almost $2,000 worth of repairs into it…

Operation Hope: Gavin’s moved home…for now

I wanted to let you know that Gavin was released from the hospital this evening around 7:30pm. I haven't been able to update due to this site being down for a good while tonight.  Basically, Gavin stabilized throughout the day and was no longer having significant orthostatic issues. The problem was most likely medication related.  He hadn't had his salt tabs for awhile and that threw his system out of whack. The salt tabs helped his body to retain fluids which make it easier for his heart to maintain his blood pressure. Without the fluid retention bolstering his blood volume, his heart has to work harder to maintain. This can also lead to the orthostatic issues as well.  Orthostatic issues are when his heart rate and or blood pressure changes…

More server issues….

Sorry for the downtime.  Blue host was down once again.  I don't know what the heck is going on.  Please be patient as I either find a new host or address the issues with Blue Host.  :-)

Autonomic Crisis: Selling the Drama

Gavin had bloodwork done about an hour or so ago. At this point, he seems to have stabilized enough to be sent home. We'll know more when the blood work comes back.  Thus far, things have been interesting.  Gavin was in full on drama queen mode. He was screaming and crying for no reason, other than trying to get the attention of the pretty nurses.  Very frustrating on our end because his behavior made things more difficult on everyone.  I missed Elliott's promotion and Gavin's acting like a drama queen.  This has nothing to do with aspergers, autism or overstimulation.. It's all about getting attention and cresting a scene.  That would be the reactive attachment disorder.  I realize that none of this is his fault per say. However he is…

Autonomic Crisis, Hives and Way too much stress

We're sitting here waiting and I noticed something was wrong with Lizze.  Lizze is so stressed out that she's broken out in hives.  He entire face and neck are covered. We are getting her some benadryl and hoping for the best.  This is all too much for her.

Autonomic Crisis: Waiting to be seen at @AkronChildrens Hospital

We have actually been for awhile now and are still waiting to go back.  It appears that they are pretty busy at the moment.  We have to wait for a room with a monitor. Gavin's slowly become more stable as time goes on.  Hopefully we'll get back there and we can figure out what's going on.  We had to miss Elliott's promotion. I saw him as he was going do to the dojo and I let him know that we were going to have to be with Gavin at the hospital and he was really disappointed.  He didn't want to be doing the promotion in the first place, so this really sucks.  Thankfully my parents are there with Emmett to cheer him on and take pictures. I friggin hate this.
