A pretty positive Sunday

Today has been one of those days that just seems to go on and on.... Having said that, for a Sunday, it's been pretty good.  The boys have been getting along pretty well Lizze got to catch up on some sleep.  I even got to speak on the phone to a really good friend of mine. Emmett actually fell asleep about 15 minutes ago, so Lizze took him to bed. I'm chillin' out in the living room with Elliott while he tends to his garden in Viva Piñata on the XBOX 360.  Overall, I have to say that this has been a pretty good day. I posted my brief review of the Mini Studio by Idolain as well and will get the giveaway posted tonight or tomorrow.  Right now I…

@IdolianTab Mini Studio 8″ #Android Tablet Review

IdolPad Mini Studio android tablet review Lost and Tired is proud to work with Idolian, in conjunction with millerrupp.com to not only review this tablet but give some away to my readers as well. I wanted to make sure I told you to check out Idolian's website because they have tons of great tech for a reasonable price. Now let's get to the details. The Mini Studio is an 8 inch tablet powered by android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) from Google. This particular model is designed to go head to head with Apple's new iPad Mini. While I don't own an iPad to do a side by side comparison, I have used them, including the iPad Mini. The Mini Studio stacks up quite well, in this technology nerd's opinion. Let's talk price and get that out…

Twitter Tuesday

Social media has been a huge help to my site. However, I utilize it in a relatively one dimensional way. Basically, I use to to help network this site but never really spend any time there. Does that make sense? One of the things I wanted to do this year was improve upon that by spending more time on Twitter and building new relationships and connections. I think that when you are a blogger, the focus becomes your blog, at least for me. However, if my goal is to reach more people and spread more autism awareness, I need to branch out a bit and lose my tunnel vision. In all honesty, I don't avoid doing these things on purpose, it's just that most of the time, it's all I…

What’s on my playlist

I really love this song.  It's called It's Time and it's by a band called Imagine Dragons. I like to share some songs that are currently on my playlists.  Maybe you'll learn more about me and discover new music at the same time.  :-) Please feel free to share something from yours below in the comments. Stress can be your worst enemy

I wanted to let you all know how Lizze is doing after her headache infusion last week.  After a 3 day medication infusion is took a little while for her to shake off the side effects.  Unfortunately however,  when the meds were out of her system, the migraine was let standing. This is very disheartening to say the least.  Everything we went through over those 3 days was for not.  I can't even imagine how Lizze feels right now.  We were really hoping that this would work and she would be migraine free.  I been telling Lizze for years that stress is her absolute worst enemy. Her doctors have told her the very same thing.  Her stress level is so incredibly high, that she her body just doesn't respond to…

Why a nap is so important for my son with #Autism

I love it when things just work out.  It rarely happens, so when it does, it's cause for celebration.  This is Emmett taking a nap, during the day. He hardly ever naps anymore.  However, he did this time and I think it really helps him. Emmett is dealing with many sensory processing challenges and he gets overwhelmed by them quite often. He really does his best to cope but he's only 4 years old and that's a whole lot to try and cope with. When he takes a nap, it's like he gets a break from the sensory onslaught and can kinda regroup. Autism is a complicated state of being and it can be woven into every aspect of his life.  He needs these little breaks during the day to…

Do you ever spontaneously break into song?

Maybe I've just totally lost my marbles but for as long as I can remember, I've always broken into song at the weirdest times.  I usually make things up as I go and I have no idea why I do this.  It's not like I'm sitting there thinking, this would be a great time to remove my brain mouth filter and burst into so crazy made up song. I suspect that it's just a weird way of dealing with stress. However, I now have everyone in the entire house doing the same thing, including the kids. That's right. It's not uncommon to have one of the boys walk past me while they are singing some goofy song to themselves.  It's really cute.  :-) Sometimes when the boys are upset about…

If you don’t have a picture, it didn’t happen.

In the Android community we have a saying, if you don't have a picture, it didn't happen. This usually comes up when people are claiming to have received an OTA (over the air update) that we have all been waiting for and as developers we are clamoring to get our hands on. The rule of thumb is if you do to have a picture, it didn't happen. In that spirit, I have somewhat documented our afternoon out.  :-) I got some pictures of Lizzes actually smiling..  This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. Please forgive any typos.
