Join me for Twitter Tuesday

I pretty excited about stepping outside my comfort zone and spending the day on Twitter.  I want to engage my readers in a different and more real time way.  I don't normally venture too far from my blog but this is something I mean to change. I'm always looking to meet new people and gain perspective by seeing life through their eyes.  My goal is to begin a dialog, make new friends and visit with some old ones as well. Not that anyone wants to talk to me but if you should feel the need to want to talk, I'll be on Twitter for most of the day. I use Hootsuite and receive all tweet directed to @Lost_and_Tired in real time on my phone.  From there I can respond, no…

A good day at school

Elliott's first day back to school was pretty good.  He was sick for most of last week but was feeling well enough to return to school this morning.  I wasn't sure how things were going to go because Elliott doesn't always like change.  However, he had a great day and my concerns were relieved when he came out of the building with a big smile on his face.  :-) This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. Please forgive any typos. Where do #autistic adults come from?

I have to admit that my focus on advocacy is fairly limited.  Perhaps that's needs to change.  However, I'm heavily involved with my 3 autistic boys.  That's what I know.  I tend to focus on what I know, first hand.  Right now, I'm a parent to 3 young autistic boys and that's what my life revolves around.  I'm also a special needs parent and so I know first hand what challenges are faced by a special needs parent.  That's way you don't hear me speak to much about much outside of that arena, at least for now.  My kids are what I know and my personal experience is what I share. If you were in charge of #Autism Awareness Month what would you change?

As #Autism Awareness Month approaches, what would you like to see happen? Do you want to see more general awareness? Do you want to see more research? Another one bites the dust

Emmett’s been up for awhile already.  Why?  Because now it's apparently his turn to be sick.  Right now it's pretty minor and just a runny nose. Having said that, for a child like Emmett, with Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder, a runny nose is a really big deal. He hates the feeling of his nose leaking and this will put him in a pretty foul mood.  I'm pretty sure this is a sensory and something we will continue to work on. Does something as simple as a runny nose, drive your sensory sensitive child crazy? Is there anything you have found that helps? How’s your Monday looking?

Elliott's been sick for about 5 days now but should be returning to school in the morning.  He's been doing pretty well today but still has a cough, on occasion. We'll see how he's feeling in the morning but so long as nothing changes in the next 8 hours or so, he will be back in the saddle.  Thankfully, Elliott enjoys school but there will still be a period of adjustment for him after so many days off.  I've got some work to catch up on today and Lizze is still battling her migraine so, I'm doubt much is going to get done.  Emmett is going to want me to play with him all day long but he'll have to settle for something in the middle because I really, really…
