Helping Canada’s #Autism Families

I really excited to be able to let you all know that going forward,  the Tablet giveaways will be open to Continental Canadian Residents as well. I looked into shipping and customs and have worked it out so that this offer can extend to my northern friends. Shipping for the current giveaway is being sponsored by a very generous reader, who I won't mention until I get permission.  Thank you very much. Please be sure to thank Idolian for donating these tablets and making this possible.  They have a fantastic selection of tablets and accessories.  Let's make sure to help generate some attention for them.  I'll update this post with links for doing so when I get home later. I'm so excited to see this taking off. UPDATE: Links to…

@Lost_and_Tired Android Tablet Giveaway

UPDATE: This Giveaway is officially open to Canadian residents, unless prohibited by law.. I’ll adjust the widget when I get home thus afternoon. I’m so happy to be able to extend this to all my friends to the north. 🙂

Before we get started, I want to explain why I’m doing these giveaways. These tablets are generously donated by Idolian. I’m free to give them away as I see fit. I’ve chosen the giveaway route because it seems to be the most fair. My goal is to not only provide this technology to those that need it, free of charge, but also raise Autism Awareness in the process.

Anyone can enter (right now it’s Continental US and Canadian Residents (unless prohibited by law) ONLY because I have to pay for shipping out of pocket. At the moment I can’t afford to ship outside of the US and I’m sorry for that.) You don’t have to have Autism or be a special needs parent in order to win.

Remember, part of my goal is to raise Autism Awareness and anyone can help with that.

We really owe Idolian a huge thank you because they are the only company that I know of that is willing to reach out and provide these devices to the community.

@Lost_and_Tired Android Tablet Giveaway

Welcome to the latest and greatest giveaway from Lost and Tired. I’m honored to work with Idolian, in conjunction with millerrupp.com to make this giveaway possible. I haven’t met any other company that was willing to step up and help provide the autism community with this much needed technology. They deserve all the credit for this.

This particular giveaway is the second for the month of February and is for the 2013-02-21 11.21.48recently reviewed Idolian Mini Studio Dual Core, 8″ android tablet (See Mini Studio 8″ #Android Tablet Review). This android tablet is a direct competitor to the new iPad
Mini. The Mini Studio by Idolian, stacks up spec for spec (with the exception of the camera) with the more expensive iPad Mini.

It also has all the massive advantages that go along with the android OS as well, the biggest being customization and choice.

Now for the details of the giveaway.

First and foremost, the disclaimer:

Members of the Lost and Tired family are not eligible for this giveaway. This contest is for the continental US and Canadian Residents (unless prohibited by law) ONLY. Sorry, I can’t afford international shipping.

This giveaway is for one (1) Mini Studio 8″ android tablet by Idolian. This contest will run from 02/21/2013 – 03/01/2013. You can enter by using the form below. If for any reason you need to contact me, you can do so by clicking here.

Please note that that the winner will have 24 hours to respond to the notification email. After 24 hours I reserve the right to award the prize to the next on the list. Please check your email in the day following the end of this giveaway.

Fighting at 5am

Elliott and Emmett woke up this morning around 5 am and began fighting.  To be honest, I don't even remember what it was about.  My brain doesn’t function  that early in the morning. By 7 am they were getting along and all was well once again.  Elliott got off to school without a problem and Emmett is playing on the Xbox.. I'm pulling for a good day here.  :-) This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. Please forgive any typos. What do you say when someone asks “how are you doing?”

I know it may seem like an easy question to answer but for a special needs parent, that's not always the case. The truth is that this is a loaded question not easily answered. Speaking from personal experience, most people can't really handle the truth. People ask me all the time how I'm doing.  Typically, if they're asking me in person, than they likely don't read my blog.  So I generally answer them with something that they will be comfortable hearing, like, "I'm going great, how about you?" What am I supposed to say? If I answer them truthfully, things become pretty awkward.  There are times that I've had a really bad day and someone asks me how I'm doing.  I've been known to be really honest and you should…

The Thirty Day Water challenge: Day 3

There have been a few questions about this whole challenge thing.  Let me clarify a few things.  This is not a water only diet.  I eat whatever I would normally I just only drink water.  This isn't some crazy diet.  It's about making small changes and improving ones health.  No more no less. That said, I'm on day three of driving only water.  I did another 64 oz of water today. This may seem easy and in a way it is.  However, there are still times that I really want something else to drink, especially with dinner.  There's not alot in my life right now that is within my control.  This is something that is and I'm proud of myself for sticking with it. Who knows, maybe by the time…

The day full of meltdowns

Today has absolutely been an off day.  Emmett has melted down countless times already and for seemingly no reason.  I mean I know there is probably a reason, I just don't know ow what it is.  One meltdown occurred as a result of him dropping a fruit snack on the floor.  That's all it took to trigger a 30 minute meltdown. It's been rough for him and it's been rough for me.  Lizze is incapacitated today once again,  so I'm basically on my own.  The sudden changes in weather have caused a massive fibro flare up, rendering her literally unable to move around much at all. She's is so much pain and there isn't anything we can do to help her.  For that matter, the fact that something is wrong…

Building a Marble World

Emmett has sorta pulled out of his funk and even stepped outside of his Spiderman costume.  Right now he's lost in Marble World. Marble World is a construction set made of tracks and tubes. When built it allows marbles to race through it. This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. Please forgive any typos. The early morning meltdown

This morning started out really well and then all of a sudden, Emmett just seems to really be struggling.  We had our first meltdown of the day already and it's not even 7 am. I'm hoping to be able to turn things around after I get Elliott to school.  I haven't given up on the day just yet.
