I wanted to share a really good example of what families like mine go through, just trying to feed our kids. This is an example of my personal experience but I'm pretty sure others can relate. Emmett is the absolute pickiest eater we have in our family. Meal time can go one of two ways. It can either be a breeze or a complete nightmare. This seems to be largely dependent on how his day has been up to that point. On an easy day, all I have to deal with is what you see below in the picture. Basically, all I need to do is peal the lables of his little smoothie container. However, I can't dent, scratch or ding the container in the process or it will be…
After we got home from the hospital yesterday, Emmett snuggled with me on the couch and fell asleep. This Lego thing was quite the ordeal for him. While he handled it well it was really overwhelming for him. This was the second day in a row that he fell asleep while snuggling with me, just like when he was a baby. :-) This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. When we had to take Emmett to the ER to have the Lego extracted from his nose, we dropped Elliott off at my parents. He ended up spending the whole day there and came home around bedtime. After dinner, I had to make a run to Giant Eagle to grab a few items that we were out of. As I was checking out, I looked over and this is what I saw. Elliott and my Dad were picking up some groceries as well. They were going to make dinner and then bring him home after. It would have been much more convenient to just bring him home from then but Elliott was having fun helping Grandma and Grandpa, I said it was alright for him to go back. This is…
We began this morning at the Vets office with Emmett's kitten, Blue.. Blue needed to be checked out before he goes in to get neutered on Tuesday morning. Blue had to get a couple shots and the boys wanted to be there for moral support. :-) Everything checked out okay and he's cleared to get fixed next week. This was a great start to the day. Of course, shortly after that, the day went downhill really fast. :-( With that said, I'll count this as a victory. :-) This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. I've had some time to think about the new information we received in regards to our pursuit of answers to Gavin's many health related questions. While in truth, I'm still disheartened by the knowledge that Dr. Cohen can't help us, I'm very motivated to find another solution, if one in fact exists. I'm not entirely sure where to begin but I think a call place to the Cleveland Clinic will be a good start. The bottom line is that I'm not going to let this set back discourage me. Okay.... Emmett’s home now and breathing better. :-) Lizze and I were downstairs when Elliott came running downstairs to get us. Behind him was Emmett, screaming at him not to tell us. Elliott told us anyway and we learned that Emmett had crammed a Lego all the way up his left nostril. Apparently, he was imitating something he saw on an episode of Ben 10 and this was the end result. We dropped Elliott off at my parents and headed off to Akron Children's Hospital. Our experience with our local hospitals, hasn't always been positive, when it comes to our kids on the Autism spectrum. The drive to Akron Children's Hospital was necessary and worth it. They got him back right away and while this was a first for us,…
Please say a prayer for Emmett. He shoved a large Lego all the way up his nose. It's bleeding and he's freaking out.
