The lighter side of #Autism: Downtime

Elliott spent some downtime today with his kitten Gresha...  They just snuggled on the couch and watched Netflix. It was nice to see him relaxed and enjoying himself.  :-) This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. So much for resting and getting better

Lizze is now officially out of commission and I'm still sick and on my own. :-( Lizze is in a really bad place.  This is more like a nervous breakdown and one that's been coming on for awhile.  With her hormones completely out of whack, who the hell knows what's going on.  All I know is that my heart is breaking for her and there isn't anything that I can do right now, especially while I'm sick. :-( We have to try and compartmentalize as much as possible so that the boys don't destabilize.  With that in mind, I offered the let Lizze go to bed and I would just take care of everything.  Looks like pizza for dinner is all I'm going to have the energy to do.  The…

This is all one big, giant, ugly and worrisome mess

We never made it to Lizze's appointment this morning.  I'm a bit upset about that because I feel like providing her with immediate relief is essential. She's in control of her health care and if she still wants to reschedule, than we reschedule.  Truth is, I'm not in a position to really make the trip. Even if I tried, I would most certainly pay for it later. I appreciate Lizze not wanting me to do that.  :-) The other side of the coin is that our financial resources are extremely limited right now.  We literally need to pick and choose the trips we make.  Right now, the priority has to be the whole menopause thing.  In all honesty, Lizze is a hormonal mess and getting worse.  She's absolutely miserable and…

Do you ever lose track of your kids?

It seems like every time I walk out of the room, Emmett John disappears.  When I walked upstairs to wake Lizze up so I could go he get Elliott from school, Emmett was sitting right there on the couch. When I came back downstairs a few minutes later, he was nowhere to be found.  ;-) All I found was this really lumpy blanket and a strange giggling coming from it.  :-) I'm a huge believer in letting kids be kids as much as possible.  There will be plenty of time for them to be grownup and serious down the road.  This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. Off to school without a hitch

Elliott got off to school this morning without a hitch. He got up, got dressed and even took his meds without giving us a hard time.  When I dropped him off at school, he even held the door open for the people behind him.. I'm so proud of my little gentleman.... :-) This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. Second dog attack this week in our neighborhood

So we have two new families in our neighborhood.  Both families have dogs.  I was approached by the family across the street this morning to let me know that their dog had been attacked by the other families 3 pit pull terriers. The family across the street have this cute Germany Shepherd mix that always on a leash and aside from barking on occasion, doesn't bother anyone.  The other family down the street, has 3 pits, two of whom are preggers. The three pits got loose again and went onto their property and attacked their dog, causing injuries to its left front leg. I had shared this before but a few days ago, one of the pits got loose again and went after two little girls walking their tiny little…

Emmett pulled a dresser over on himself

On Wednesday afternoon, Emmett and Elliott were playing.  All of a sudden we heard this really loud crash. Elliott came running for help. When we got there, Emmett was pinned under underneath this dresser/shelf.  Thankfully he wasn't hurt but he was certainly scared. Apparently, he was climbing on it and pulled it over on himself.  It was heartbreaking because he just kept apologizing endlessly.  We kept telling him that we weren't mad at him.  Poor Emmett, he was so upset but thankfully okay. Hopefully, this will be a lesson learned.  Don't climb on things furniture.  This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. Sure, the timings bad but when is it ever good?

We were supposed to return to the Cleveland Clinic in the morning to follow up with the whole slow stomach thing for Lizze.  However, we've had a last minute change of plans.  Lizze wants to reschedule. Why? Because of me... I'm still sick and have been pushing myself way more than I probably should have been.  The drive to Akron Children's for Elliott's appointment yesterday, killed me for the rest of the day.  All I did was drive and meet with his doctor. Apparently that's all it took to get my body to hate me.  I'm trying to talk her into going tomorrow because it's an important appointment.  She's suffering right now and we now know that part of the problem is there's something wrong with her stomach.  This appointment…
