Second dog attack this week in our neighborhood

So we have two new families in our neighborhood.  Both families have dogs.  I was approached by the family across the street this morning to let me know that their dog had been attacked by the other families 3 pit pull terriers. The family across the street have this cute Germany Shepherd mix that always on a leash and aside from barking on occasion, doesn't bother anyone.  The other family down the street, has 3 pits, two of whom are preggers. The three pits got loose again and went onto their property and attacked their dog, causing injuries to its left front leg. I had shared this before but a few days ago, one of the pits got loose again and went after two little girls walking their tiny little…

Emmett pulled a dresser over on himself

On Wednesday afternoon, Emmett and Elliott were playing.  All of a sudden we heard this really loud crash. Elliott came running for help. When we got there, Emmett was pinned under underneath this dresser/shelf.  Thankfully he wasn't hurt but he was certainly scared. Apparently, he was climbing on it and pulled it over on himself.  It was heartbreaking because he just kept apologizing endlessly.  We kept telling him that we weren't mad at him.  Poor Emmett, he was so upset but thankfully okay. Hopefully, this will be a lesson learned.  Don't climb on things furniture.  This site is managed via WordPress for Android, courtesy of the @SamsungMobileUS Galaxy Note 2 by @Tmobile. Sure, the timings bad but when is it ever good?

We were supposed to return to the Cleveland Clinic in the morning to follow up with the whole slow stomach thing for Lizze.  However, we've had a last minute change of plans.  Lizze wants to reschedule. Why? Because of me... I'm still sick and have been pushing myself way more than I probably should have been.  The drive to Akron Children's for Elliott's appointment yesterday, killed me for the rest of the day.  All I did was drive and meet with his doctor. Apparently that's all it took to get my body to hate me.  I'm trying to talk her into going tomorrow because it's an important appointment.  She's suffering right now and we now know that part of the problem is there's something wrong with her stomach.  This appointment…

Repository: Report of gunfire temporarily closes Canton school

This is right around the block from my house and the school that Gavin used to go to.  Thank God it turned out to be nothing serious.  I guess a teenager got off a bus, near this particular grade school and pulled out what was reported as a hand gun.  It was said that he fired off a few rounds and ran off. The school went on lock down. Turns out the gun was a BB gun.   I one was reported injured but this is being taken very seriously.  In this day and age, what kind of idiot does something like this? Telogen Effluvium… Ever heard of it?

Elliott's appointment today went really well.  He was super brave and the only time he really got nervous, was actually pretty funny. Dr. Handwork put on his latex gloves before checking Elliott's scalp, which is probably protocol. As soon as Elliott saw him put the gloves on he panicked. This was the exchange of words between him and I: Elliott: why did he put the gloves on? Me:  because he is going to be touching you. Elliott: (even more panicked than before) where is he going to touch me that he needs to wear gloves? Everyone began laughing and Dr. Handwork explained that he was wearing gloves so that could look through his hair.  Elliott relaxed again after that. Right now we are going to just hurry up and wait.…

See how we prepare our kids with #Autism for shots

My family has a large amount of medical issues.  Gavin and Lizze are by far the medically complex but the other boys have their share of health issues as well.  Today we are taking Elliott to the pediatricians office because we've noticed that he seems to be losing, what I would consider as an unusual amount of hair. The main concern right now reside in two categories.  The first is nutritional and the second is immunological. Elliott has been battling this sinus infection for a few months now and is on his 5th round of antibiotics. His doctor is concerned about there being something wrong with his immunoglobulins.  On the nutritional side of things, Elliott is very hard to feed. Ever since his allergy to tree nuts surfaced a few…

Investigating Elliott’s hair loss

Today's we will be meeting with Elliott's pediatrician because there is concern over his hair falling out.  Basically, we are probably going to have to do lab work and check for deficiencies.  They will also check his immunoglobulins because of how many sinus infections he's had in the last 2 months or so.  We want to make sure to test everything in one shot because Elliott's not going to do well with the idea of a blood draw. Please keep him in your thoughts today.  You should probably throw me in there as well because I will be dragging myself to his appointment because Lizze can't drive.  It's gonna be a long day. #Autism and Artwork: A picture for Mommy and Daddy

I wanted to share this picture that Elliott drew for Lizze and myself.  He's really proud of it and I'm honored to receive such a special gift from him.  I thrilled to be able to share it with you all here. Please feel free to leave your positive and encouraging comments below.  Elliott is sorta struggling a bit with drawing because Gavin's been putting his artwork down.  I don't necessarily think that Gavin's intention is to insult Elliott.  Basically, Elliott will draw something for his big brother Gavin and when he gives it to him, Gavin will say something like, you need more practice. He's even said, Elliott if you keep working at it, your next one might be good. I've tried to explain to Elliott that Gavin is just…
